Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

The Venomous Angel

The soft smile Natu afforded my presence earned one of my own in return, brilliant matte pelt of ashen grey, pristine white and Angel Marked red shifting slightly to offer her a little more room to stretch out and to better allow my violet and sunset gaze to observe the young ones and assure they suckled. Who said healing was a female’s job? I was entirely as proficient as any female, even if I had never given birth to puppies myself. I suppose I couldn’t be anything less than proficient though, not with Meryl for a teacher. Although personally I was assured I had long surpassed my mentor in at least some areas. Exploration of alternative methods, after all, was something I truly enjoyed dabbling in. Maybe some did think me mad…or dangerous, but I hadn’t killed anyone….yet. Wolves never do appreciate the new things in life. Though it would seem they do remember and honour the old, Natu speaking once more of Heyel, the fondness in her voice and smile seeming to reach myself once more as my own memories of a grandfather much adored saw my lips lift once more, head nodded in agreement- appreciative perhaps, of this single moment to remember that even in death, I suppose, there is a new life of sorts. That- I can appreciate.

“Yes. Heyel had a hand in all things and still does. We believe this strongly, I am told Achilles prays for Heyel’s blessings in time of need and guidance for his pack. He will not be forgotten, nor you for your importance Natu- though try not to pray to him too much, I feel his rise from wolf, to Alpha, to Legend to God might be a little much- his ego would surely implode.”

I chuckled softly once more, content to share in this moment with Natu, soul of my own grandfather, for surely she would appreciate the humour in such a thing. I moved softly to shake my head once more now, nodding as she continued.

“That is enough of the past though. As long as you are not feeling to weak you will be fine. You are older now, that is all, things will take longer but from what I can see, you and they, look very well. I…hey!”

Someone had bumped me, my violet and orange eyes turned downward to view the small child that had managed to wriggle her way into the den to see her Mother. Ah, perhaps one of the pups I had delivered last season? Hmm, she was a damn sight bigger then I remember. I moved to turn away from the girl, content to leave Mother and puppies ad Father to themselves, my den already calling me and since no one here required my efforts they would be better spent elsewhere- when someone called me Sir Hadrian.

“Sir? That’s new, but go on then, I deserve a knighthood I’m sure.”

I had gone from disliking her to finding myself rather fond of her truly, a smile of sorts playing upon my handsome lips as I looked down towards her. Teach her? For a moment I found myself staring almost wordlessly towards her. My craft could not be taught! It was an art form! A dance! A…something else extravagant! I moved to lower my head to her own, meeting her gaze levelly now.

“You do realise, don’t you, Little Samia that I don’t….heal in the traditional method? If you want to learn the healing arts as they have been taught for generations, albeit incorrectly, then you will be better off finding another. If you do however, have an eye for the curious and an intrigue in the more….potent side of plants then by all means. I could do with an apprentice, are you courageous enough for that?”

Her curiosity about Tobias at least seemed to answer part of my question, Natu doing as she should I suppose, seeking to end the conversation while Fenrir commented that the King was a nephew of sorts to himself. Hmm, I’d never known that although looking at them I could see the truth of it. His words however, drew a smirk to my lip.

“I have no knowledge of this dragon blood but an Angel did tame him Fenrir- or have you not heard of the tragic love story of my own Aunt Aaliyah, the Angel who loved a Demon?”

I moved to allow my lips to part, flashing a grin aimed more towards Samia then any other. I like children- most of them time and maybe I just happened to tell a better story then her parents. Angels are good at that. Making up stories. My work here however, was done, head dipped once more to both Natu and Fen in that moment, offering them my respect all the same as I moved to depart.

“Congratulations again Natu, come and find me if anything goes wrong, otherwise enjoy your evening. Samia, if you decide you want to learn from me then simply come and find me again. As I said, I could use an apprentice- of the braver kind.”
