The black booted beauty watches as the child learns of her presence, a small smile coming to play on the satin lips of her soft mouth. She hadn't thought to catch anything to feed the little one, only to meet her and figure out what made her mother want to leave. Perhaps, the other woman could not provide for the pup, either way, it was dastardly and incomprehensible. Atreyu gives a look of shame, pity and pain to the little one, silver and purple eyes full of the rattling emotions. It was hard to tell her, but the saccharine voice of Atreyu finds her air and combines in apology and sadness. "I find myself incredibly lacking at this moment for any scrap to eat, Affinity, but I can get you something. If you'd like." She smiles and dips her delicately formed tiara, naming herself in the stylish way she has always given to others. "Mother called me Atreyu, and so this is the title I have been giving out to everyone. Seems to work for getting my attention, I've become rather attached to my name." It was an attempt to make the girl smile, though it would seem her efforts would be in vain as the youth realized she was truly abandoned.

"No, dear soul, unfortunately it is a rather unsettling reality. I see no reason to hide the truth, and I am sure she had her reasons, but...sit down, little love, this will hurt." She whimpers at the sight of those glistening eyes, looking to her for answers. Yes, this was destiny. "Your mother...uh...well...she left. I watched her go, and I don't know why she did, but she did not look back." Sympathetic sadness fills those gem-like windows and she looks over the little one and reaches out a paw and pulls the little one to her should Affinity be inclined to be comforted. Black lined lips pull down in a frown, pink muscle sliding between teeth that would maim the mother for leaving this child to lick at the tears the youngster spilled in loss. It was a pain the lady of lace and leather could not stand, and Atreyu was determined to right the wrongs done to this young lady.

"I am a poor stand in, but I can guarantee that you will never be left alone again, unless I have to hunt. But, I will promise to always return unless I am dead." It was the only thing she could pledge by ways of motherhood, that she would never abandon as she had been abandoned, the only way Atreyu could ever be different from her parents. She had maternal instinct and a savage strength to back it up, all the little one had to do was stick with the woman of snow and coal, with the amethyst and silver eyes rimmed in obsidian. She would love her, delight in the little cinnamon girl and everything Affinity had to do. Atreyu was more than capable of providing food and shelter, she could protect the cub and love her. "I will take you as my own, I was once abandoned when I was little, I can teach you what our mothers lacked. You and I could be as mother and child, if you wanted." It was an offer of stability in an otherwise short and chaotic life.
