It isn’t a rare sight to see many of the young running about far from their doting parents. Young prey always held the belief within their small minds that all was right in the world and there wasn’t any danger. Sadly this was not the case. Whether you were prey or predator there was always some kind of danger lurking in a dark corner, biding its time until the perfect moment to strike was at hand, and the fawn was the unfortunate target today. It was true that Tick Tock could have easily taken the fawn herself and presented the kill to the weaker wolf, but she would do no such thing. Vaya was not her wolf and she was not incapable of catching the prey herself, but Tick Tock could observe how Vaya did with this little test. After all she was looking for those in this world that were not just different from others, or strong, but wolves that could take care of themselves. She could be caring, if it was needed, but right now Vaya did not need to be cared for – she needed to build up her strength and her confidence to know she could take down a prey still.
With a firm nod she watched the smaller wolf begin to head towards the fawn, keeping herself low to the ground, and moving in such a way to get behind the unsuspecting victim. With a soft sigh the Monster began to lower herself to the ground, feeling the fresh new soil beneath her paws that finally were thawed out from under the snow, waiting patiently. It was the sound of the snarl coming from Vaya that caused a low growl to rumble deep within her chest, anticipating this quick hunt. As the fawn came closer the Monster sprung upwards, racing towards the fawn and leaping for the creatures nimble neck, her sharp ivories clamping down upon the neck, and forcing her body to go the ground and the fawn to come down with her. Climbing herself on top of the fallen baby deer, her jaws would let go of the neck and aim for the jugular, clamping down tightly until the small creature took its last breath. Lifting her dial slightly she looked to the girl, her dry voice slipping out slowly.
“Very good Vaya.”
Without nothing else needing to be said she looked down at the dead deer and walked off of it, turning around and sinking her teeth into its side, tearing open and eating a little bit of it, enough to silence her hunger, for now. Tonight she would be hunting with Tobias and the she-wolf of Red and White and she was sure that the particular meal they had would fill her stomach far more than this fawn ever would. Still chewing on a piece of deer meat, she stepped backwards, eyeing Vaya carefully. Swallowing her morsel of meat she titled her head towards the fawn, still having plenty of meat that seemed like a feast for a wolf that hardly ate anything. With a casual flick of her dark banner her cold drawl slithered out softly, as her pink tongue wiped away some of the crimson that was there.
“You may have the rest...if your stomach can handle it.”
