the last daughter of the shadow-grin
female | five | 38 inches | 100 pounds | no heart | no soul | no home

She had found the home of her father, had found the home of her uncle, but overall it seemed silly to try and make homes in places that were foreign to her for family’s sake. Nanrua had no habits of family in the same way as the rest of the world. It had deteriorated since the Bear’s Bane and his sons had been present. Feather was dead, and since her father had thought she was dead long ago only to regain her a short while and lose her when her uncle lost his Doe - she decided it was all well that she simply allow him his golden years in peace.

One day, perhaps, she would come to speak to him. Maybe one day she would learn that he had lost his talent to a bear in defense of his and his brothers’ pups.

Today was not the day for it and she instead moves into line of hearing of a call that intrigues her more than ties to family. The howl of claim over a pack. Nanrua being a mountainous place, she finds that she cannot help how it turns her course to hear the sound.

Her gray form, mane almost white and places on her fur dark as stormclouds, takes up a swift pace to the welcoming sound. It is permission to come, to meet him, to become ‘a part’. She uses her long legs and lean body to make swift work, her endurance withstanding the slopes easily. She arrives at this gathering, then, and her ice blue eyes take in all that she can around them. There are those who seem perturbed by the acquisition of the large black and brown wolf at the center who is greeting the newcomers. There are those who seem happy for him. She wonders a moment if it is a hostile takeover when she realizes that not one of those howls had been shooing or threatening.

He had meant to welcome those who thought perhaps he might chase them off because of his victory. Two wolves were greeting him now, and she joins them with an addition to their question of her own. “And is it open to those beyond those that you have called? I am newly arrived and heard your call of welcome.” She is careful, though not timidly so, and waits and hopes at the strange female’s side and at the side of what smelled like her daughter’s.
