Nakato
eleven ; no mate ; no imprint ; frankenstein of asteraia |
Eyes rolled playfully as a small paw is placed on her muzzle. Of course the Monster would teach her children that names and titles meant nothing. Perhaps she was right but it was still hard for Nakato to change her perspective on things. She was trying and when the girl told her to be quiet, the older wolf obliged. The conversation changes as Nevermore agrees to her conditions and a small smile spreads across her face. “Thank you, young one. It is important to understand that I do not teach those who would cause harm on other wolves. It is not my way, unless I absolutely have to.” Now that this point was driven home and thoroughly beaten, the grey and black wolf looks at the plains around them as she listens to Nevermore’s question. She sees a garden of wildflowers not too far and she stands up and trots to it. Plucking a yellow flower, she brings it back to the pup and places it down at her paws. “This is what one would consider a pale yellow. It can also been the sunlight on a bright summer morning. It is a soft color, gentle, yet firm. It can teach you many things, like the time of day and the seasons. My aura shares this color and it has the same meaning. Everything is born with a color. This can change throughout a life and become a different shade or color all together.” Again, she looked around for something to show the child her own color and she spotted a bush full of berries. They were not meant for eating, but they were serve her purposes nicely. She placed these before Nevermore, but was careful to keep them away from her teeth should she try to eat them. “You are like your mother in many respects. You are a deep red. Powerful and destined for greatness. Many wolves from my homeland saw red as a noble color and one that showed great intelligence.” Nakato wasn’t sure if she was explaining it right, but she had a feeling she had the young pup’s full attention. She laid down next to her again and sighed. “The hardest thing to do is to get your eyes to focus. Soon, you will be able to see the colors with your eyes open but for now, close them and feel your surroundings. Think of me next to you, the sound of my voice, the way I breathe and how my fur smells. We speak with more than words. Soon, your mind will show you a color. It may be faint, but it’s there. If you focus on it, you will be able to hold on to it. When you think you have it, open your eyes. If you have done it right, you will see the color surround me. It may fade, but that’s okay.” She waited to see if Nevermore was doing it herself. The older wolf remained quiet while the child attempted her most precious secret. Not many knew this skill and she was sure it would become valuable one day. Waiting, Nakato watched her pupil with interest to see how she would do. |
