After the fight with the cats life had been foggy. Of course there had been a lot of pain with all the injuries he had sustained. He did a lot of sleeping, which normally would have worried him having a certain female staying in his den. But she had this weird infatuation with him now, one that he did not understand seeing as how he had treated her. But he chose to ignore that for now. Besides, whatever drugs Macaria was giving him was making his head feel funny and foggy and he could not focus well. As he was snoozing, the smaller female’s form napping as well not far from him, he heard a call, on that was calling for him. His audettes perked, trying to figure out who it was as it was not his king calling him. It took him a moment to remember, his brother, Summer. He had seen his brother again for the first time in years not long ago when he went with Kershov to visit the neighboring pack. The brothers didn’t know that each other were still alive, both thinking the other dead and it had been a shock for both. But he had not thought of Summer since then. His form rose to his paws, stretching his healing limb with a wince and a growl. When Macaria looked at him with sleepy eyes, he growled, ”Stay.” before h pushed his way out of the den. He knew that she would not leave and was no longer worried about leaving her alone.
It took the injured brute longer than it normally would have to reach the borders. He walked with a stiff limp, and was trying to shake off the effects of the drugs so he would be able to focus better on what was going on. When his large grey form pushed through the trees, he saw not only his brother but also his king and a random other varg. A darkly pelted pup was by Summer’s paws. Did he have a mate? Was this his kin? There was so much about his brother that he did not know, and he felt weird that they two were related by blood but strangers. As he approached he heard Kershov speak, asking what had brought Summer here and who the female was. As he approached the white king, he nodded his head in a quick greeting, "Kershov.” His large form sat down, yellow orbs meeting Summer’s matching ones, waiting for him to answer. ”Hello Kershov, Grey Wind.” The smoky colored brute greeted them both. As he opened his maw to continue, the pup spoke up, interrupting. She spoke for herself, telling them both who she was and asking about cats.
Most would find her cute at such a young and curious age, Grey Wind just found her annoying and disrespectful. And she spoke so bluntly about her parents, he didn’t like her. The soldier waited until Kershov responded to the female if he did, staying silent. He did not know how to feel about his brother and about this…thing…that was also related to him. Finding out that Lady had been alive and had had pups also gave him no new emotions. He had buried her in his mind years ago, so her actual death felt no different than the death of some useless creature. Summer continued, not scolding this, Nzingha, for speaking out like that but instead smiled down at her, as if he was proud or something. ”What she says of her family is true, Grey Wind this is your niece. But Nzingha it is not polite to point out other’s scars and such. It just shows that they were victorious in battle and are a survivor.” Grey Wind knew that Summer was putting on a show, he did not respect Kershov and what he stood for. This must all be some act and the male became suspicious. He continued to be silent, merely grunting at the pup in greeting.
Grey Wind’s attention was more taken by his brother as he told them why he had come. ”I came so that Nzingha could meet another pack and her uncle, but also to tell you some more serious news. I am leaving Bright Moon and stepping down as alpha. We do not have the numbers of a pack and we were attacked by two bears and their cubs. Without more wolves our attack was futile, so I thought it better for us to leave. I still need to speak with some of Bright Moon’s previous inhabitants to figure out where we are going, but I figured you could hear the news for now.” His brother had a look of sadness on his face, but he did not seem embarrassed or anything. Grey Wind was confused as to why Summer was sharing this. He basically told another pack, previously an enemy pack, how weak Bright Moon was and that he was now homeless. Was he looking for help from Abendrot? He surely would find none here. They did not take in those begging for help and weak. His gaze turned instead towards his king, waiting to see what his reaction would be to this news.
OOC: I figured we can pretend Nzignha never said anything about being an alpha pup since things have changed since that post ><
