Tithe

Tithe nodded his armored head in understanding of what Roman said. Close friends would be wary of those who dislodged their previous alliance. It would be an interesting conversation when he had a chance to speak with those who had met under a different rule and a different time. He had always found personal ties were stronger than mere words. It was his hope that those ties could carry them through and possibly create an understanding between the packs he had approached. He thought about what Roman had said and mulled over the different possibilities in his mind. Had he been any of their previous allies he would have been hesitant to step forward and send any into the unknown. Just as he had been hesitant to ally himself with the new Alpha before gleaning what he could first.

“I will speak with who I know there. Perhaps we can still forge a friendship.” Fritjof had seemed like an eager man. They had seemed to get along well and be able to speak about topics that would lead to the betterment of their packs. Though tenuous, they had trusted each other to hunt together. It was a start, at least.

The man got to to his feet in one fluid movement. It became plain in that second that had an attack been aimed at him he would not have been utterly defenseless. Even so, the calm of his body was obvious in his ever peaceful intentions. Before he left to do his duty he hesitated when Roman spoke to him again, a question that held more weight than anything they had said thus far.

He turned back to face his new Alpha and now studied him even harder than ever. “I can. So long as you understand that I, too, will stand to live or die for those and that which I hold dear.”
