Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

The young adult male found his comfort in exploring farther past Spirane's borders. He wasn't necessarily a part of Spirane yet as he was still indecisive, so he took it upon himself to have a look around the pack's territory. Today, he went beyond them, following the flow of the river toward what would eventually be Iromar. Kogto found himself at a stop, something itching at him to not go further. He decided to follow his instincts, otherwise he would have certainly found Iromar at some point, and it would be dark before he would make it back to the safe zone. Instead he whipped right back around, the wolf much healthier than he had been in months. He was still about ten pounds underweight, but his heavy coat hid that well enough. He was entirely independent on his own prey now, growing a little familiar with his pack.

Kenya came to mind all of a sudden and he wondered if she had left yet. It seemed she had no interest to stay, but that didn't bother him. She was a cherishable friend, and with that in mind, he had hopes that she would find her place in Moladion soon. He was terrible at giving proper farewells to friends, especially if he wished them to stay. No matter what, he had her locked in his heart, someone to be treasured for such kindness and offerings. It wasn't love he had for her, but it was something close. Like a sibling.

It would ease his mind to feel the wind under his coat as the days were getting warmer. Spring was coming to a close, the Sun's rays burrowing into his white undercoat, the black fur over it not doing much to stop it. Almond colored eyes swept across the land side to side every now and then, until he finally found a coniferous tree close enough to the river. He was on his way back to Spirane, he just needed a shadow to lay under and cool off. The grass here was very soft and vibrant, a comforting chill about them under his paws as he laid at his resting spot. Panting, the young male's ears were pointed toward the sky, keeping himself alert, yet rested.
