The pup sat patiently in the snow, knowing that Halina may not be in her den at the moment. It was still fairly early though, so he did not think that she would already be out and about. Most likely she was still asleep, enjoying her rest before the sun rose. The male had always been more of a night owl, preferring to nap during the day and wander about during the night. The night was easier than the day, it was quieter and more peaceful. There were not as many beings running about, making noise and distraction from the natural beauty of the world. And the moon was his favorite. His green orbs enjoyed looking up to the sky, watching the moon go from a full orb down to a sliver and eventually to nothing. The stars just illuminated the night more and made the sky that much more beautiful. He often found himself getting lost in the sky, in the stars, in the moon itself.
But right now the moon was no longer in the sky as the color went from a dark black to a lighter orange as the sun was beginning to show itself. The young male let out a yawn, knowing that normally he would be going to sleep right now, but that was not how most wolves functioned. If he could he would sleep all day, ignoring those that preferred the daytime, but often that was not possible. Even hunting could be more difficult at night. He found that most of the smaller prey that he was able to catch himself scurried about during the day, and it was harder to find them hiding in their holes fast asleep in the darkness. Lupin,s green orbs looked around the trees, trying to see if any others were up as he was. His light brown pelt helped him hide his form in the trees and most did not know he was there. Rabbits scurried by and squirrels scampered around the trees. It was not often that he could catch them, they were too quick for him and he still had not quite mastered the art of hunting.
The male’s thoughts about the daylight and small creatures was interrupted when he heard movement from within the den that he was sitting so close to. It sounded as if Halina was waking from her sleep. Lupin let out another yawn, shaking his head to wake himself up a bit more. Blue orbs, quite unlike his own, looked down at him in a judgmental way as she approached, but he didn’t mind. He honestly could care less about what others thought of him, and he was sure that Halina was not about to start judging him now, and if she were going to then so be it. It would not make him upset by any means. She had no emotion on her face, and a he himself had a similar emotionless mask upon his own features. After all he had been through he found it easier to just pretend like he felt nothing. “So, Lupin, have you come to a decision?" The smaller male got to his paws, shaking out his pelt of any dust that may have settled. ”Yes. I will not leave Abendrot but I also will not call you mother. I do not need a mother and I know you will not force that on me which is why I am not leaving. I will however accept your other offer and be your apprentice.” He spoke easily, previously rehearsing the words in his head that he would say when this time had come.
