During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

As soon as Akuji spoke, both of the other two kalaks reacted... Rather less than ideally. Shasta lashed out with rage, whereas Horizon's response was horror.Akujis' daughter immediately raised her spines as her chest began to rumble a warning. Akuji did not flinch nor move from her, but rather turned his cranium to stare at her with a quizzical brow. Her outright anger confused him, and it was certainly not what he was expecting, especially from her. She had always done everything he had asked, never questioning his decisions. His lids widened and chocolates followed the coney as she slapped at the hare, sending it like a curve ball toward Horizon's face, which the opposing brute swiftly sidestepped. "Shasta! Now you have wasted a perfectly good hare! Even though winter is ended and the snow is melting, do you know how difficult it is to find one of those around here?" But his words seemed to go unnoticed as finally Shasta put words to the thoughts within her mind.

'You don’t get to decide that, father. I don’t know why either of you thought this would be a good idea. You’re both idiots for thinking I would take a mate not of my choosing. I don’t need a male. I can take care of myself.' Akuji's jaw dropped in shock at his daughter's outrage. But then, before he had a chance to respond, Horizon began to attack him - albeit in a more calm fashion, from the opposing side.

'Akuji you understood I only let this meeting occur to meet Shasta, I am under no circumstance obligated to ask her questions of such caliber. If it’s not obvious… Shasta has no intention of letting me anywhere near her. And Shasta I would hope to have you understand I had no intention of ever going along with your father. Please take my word, I only intended to befriend you Shasta.' Horizon moved away from the femme, and Akuji's confusion and awkwardness in his current system reverted back to his one true emotion, the only thing he could ever rely on - his rage.

Lids narrowed even as his hackles raised and the kalak growled, a deep rumbling in his chest. His lips raised and he snapped at the air in front of Shasta, thought to his credit he came no where near hitting her. The monster within him begged - pleaded - to be released so that he could spill their blood, but a shred of Akuji's humanity still remained. And this was - after all - his daughter. His flesh and blood. How could he ever allow himself to hurt her. His neck bowed as he fought against himself, trying to reign in the Devil himself and he snapped at her and then Horizon as well, his vocals suddenly remembering how to work again. Words formed, propelled by hurt that his daughter had betrayed him, and that his new friend had abandoned him. "Fine Shasta, but when my Father comes to collect you, I hope you remember this day and that you would not listen to me. I pity you for the pain you will feel by his teeth, but your blood will no longer be upon my pads. Daddy won't be here to protect you any more from the horrors of the world. I have shielded you and all I ever wanted was to keep you safe, and this is how you repay me? And you, Horizon, you deserved everything Farant did to you. If you had stood up to him, showed some fucking initiative, maybe he would have put you in his army, but no you acted the part, being the dog that you are. Pitiful. " Akuji's specialty had always been hurting those closest to him, and today he proved it. He had known where to hurt these two the most - Shasta and her feelings of belonging to Akuji himself, and Horizon's horrific past. Spinning on his heel, he turned away from the pair of them. Once they were out of earshot, he began to mumble to himself. "You really outdid yourself this time, Akuji. You held me back... But in the process you may have lost the only wolf that still loves you. Congratu - fucking - lations."
