PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

YOU LEFT ME IN THE DARK

IMPAZIENZA

Company, when it came, arrived from a higher slope than Impazienza expected. She lifted her head at the sound of snow shifting without the aid of wind, chewing as her ears flicked toward the mare above her, and watched the newcomer descend in a controlled slide. The draft mare had never seen this one before: she was pale, golden in the weak winter sun, and covered unevenly in large white splotches. The nicker the stranger greeted her with, and the eager light in her eyes, was warmer than Impazienza had experienced in a long while.

She swallowed and extended her nose to share breaths with the smaller mare before withdrawing and angling her head to the left. “Hello,” she said, and wondered at the small fluttering in her stomach. It had been a long time since she’d talked to anyone. Inka and her parents had been the last, likely well over a year ago, and since then only the growing filly Adelheid. It had been easy to talk to her— the girl had been in great distress, and Impazienza had recognized and empathized with her pain.

This, however, looked to be like a standard interaction between two adults. The half-blind mare felt very out of practice, but she stifled her own misgivings and offered the stranger a smile. “Been a long and lonely winter,” she said. “Have you recently arrived on the Peak?”
