Re(11): Sir Jeremy Morse
IP: 90.202.107.73

In around 1963 I appeared on TV in a game show called Take a letter, hosted by Robert Holness. Each round had two contestants and a composite clue to two phrases (around 20 letters each) was read out. The phrases were represented by a grid with numbers 1 to 20, competitors called out numbers alternately and the corresponding letter appeared in their grid. When you had solved both phrases you buzzed. Each time a letter was called the money was reduced by 1. I think it started at about 40. When Jeremy Morse (as he then was) played, on one occasion as soon as the clue was read out he buzzed without calling a single number. He retired undefeated with about 1,000 as far as I remember. (I won 115!)
