Minesing Raptors Field Trip - Brereton Field Naturalists' Club

Dear Nature Boarders,

You are welcome to join our caravan for our annual Minesing Raptors Tour, Saturday, February 6th, 2016! (Psssst I just received a hot tip from an advanced scout Friday! 8SNOW! + 4RLHA!)

Leader Brian Gibbon, 705-721-4599, will guide us around the Minesing Wetlands by car looking for Raptors like Snowy Owls, Rough-legged Hawks, Northern Shrikes, Bald Eagles and others. We may even see flocks of migrant Snow Buntings and Horned Larks.

Be sure to bring binoculars, cameras, spotting scopes, FRS radios, snacks, lunch and drinks.

Be prepared for the weather and muddy footing, as we often get out to scope the more distant birds and fauna.

Be prepared to have fun sharing and learning about nature before the migrant raptors and passerines head back to their breeding grounds in the north.

Meet at Little Lake Park parking lot at the east end of Little Lake Drive at 8:15 AM to sort ourselves into a carpool caravan and depart at 8:30 AM sharp for the Minesing Wetlands.
Alternate meeting place in Minesing westbound along Ronald Road west of Giffen Farm Equipment at 8:50 AM.

I hope to see you there!

Chris Evans, President - Brereton Field Naturalists' Club
