Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Doing tricks for Treats

She's almost too confident but I kind of like it. I know we haven't specified what my reward will be but I'm thinking if I do a good enough trick then I should get to choose my own reward. Not that I have any idea what I'm going to ask for just yet. I head to the tree over the river with determination, knowing that she is watching and following. I'm sure another wolf hasn't climbed a tree right in front of her before so this should be impressive enough. I've done it ever since I was little. She seems less confident in my abilities now, telling me to be something but her voice stops. I head out further onto the branch anyway, determined to prove I'm better than anyone else.

I hear the branch cracking and I glance back but I'm already more than halfway out here so there's no turning back now. I look down, seeing her at the edge of the bank and my lips crinkle in the corners. Is someone getting concerned? I hear her warning and despite my current situation, I smirk. "You plan on saving me, right? I did this for your benefit, after all." I call back to her. She actually ends up going into the water and I feel my own concern amp up. What's she doing? Doesn't she know the current can change at any moment? My ears flick back, my tail flicking in mild irritation. She seems to be holding strong right now but what about if the current changes? I'm not right there to jump in and save her.

At her next question, I laugh. "All in good time, princess." I give her a pet name, moving further out on the branch despite the continuous cracking. When I reach near the end, I glance over at the other bank. I'm pretty sure I can make it from here. Taking a deep breath, I crouch down than launch forward, actually tucking my forehand to make it turn under my back end and before you know it, I'm doing a front flip toward the bank. I of course don't end turning back right side up by the time I reach the bank so I land on my side with a yip of surprise, rolling a few times before I come to a stop. I shake off the dirt and lift my head, looking over at her with a big grin. I feel achy and sore but otherwise I'm unharmed, all while the branch I was just on finished breaking and falls into the river. Good timing.

"That impressive enough for you?"
