At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

He flinched when she spoke, audettes flat against his cranium and she turned away from him. Hellene was known for her temper, yes, but she rarely unleashed it on those she actually knew. Not that she had any sort of personal relationship with Brendon, not that they were even able to consider one another friends - no, instead they were acquaintances. Hellene had known Brendon's father better than she knew the kalak himself. She had no right to yell at him - it wasn't even her responsibility to worry about it. But she did worry, and she had yelled.

The timberess mumbled an apology. A few torturous moments of silence hung between the two of them before he apologized again, this time, his tone more morose. 'I'm sorry for how I have acted. I truly mean it. It's just... Universe died.' Hellene froze, unsure how to react. She had just seen Universe at the meeting... How was it that he was dead? "I..." The fae mumbled before falling silent again as the sound of sobbing reached her audettes and she turned around to see Brendon laying upon the ice, tears staining his face. It explained everything - Brendon had been an orphan that Universe had adopted, and the brute had become the kalak's whole family. Universe had not spent much time introducing the pup to the pack, and had not spent much time with the pup himself, but still, Universe had been the only thing that Brendon had in the world. And with him dead, it was no wonder that he was lashing out against the world, searching for someone - anyone - to hold onto for comfort.

"I'm so sorry, Brendon. I did not... I did not hear that. What happened?" A soft sound - crack - pulled her attention and Hellene's ambers drifted down. Spring had beaten out the winter, but thus far it had been a cold spring, and so the surface of the lake had remained frozen. But with their added weight, perhaps they weighed too much combined for the ice to support them. "We should move from here... We should move toward the shore." Even as she watched the lake's surface, the small crack began to spread, and slowly, the fae began to toward the shore, her gaze tracing the progression of the fracture.
