Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

israfel

He did his best to appear unafraid and unbothered by his sudden discovery; he had crouched lower momentarily and yet, he had risen just as quick in order to appear more confident. Besides, the older male had merely seemed surprised and not aggressive, which gave Israfel more reason to be impressed rather than afraid. In his mind, he had done excellently in his efforts to be quiet and so, the male discovering him must have meant he had exceptional skills. Of course, the moment had been ruined by the words of the others. They made him huff in displeasure and his eyes sharped on Jackdaw and Vincent as he rose and joined the group more officially.

"Well, you took your time noticing me." He ushered his words quietly, if not a bit spitefully, and flashed his broadest, toothiest grin as he sat down off to the side of Vicnent (who had seemed a little more kind, at least).

His ears had then turned to Matthias eagerly as he delved into his ideas; it made Israfel's mouth fall open into an amazed 'o' of awe - he'd never heard of anything like it! It sounded complicated and difficult and yet, those aspects had already lured him towards the idea. He liked the idea of challenge. After all, both his parents had been successful one way or another and yet, he had yet to really find any path. Could this be a path for him? He looked down at his paws momentarily, mulling over how big they seemed and how wrong his body felt and looked compared to the toned, mature bodies of the others. Could he even fight? Would even be able to? And hunt... could he do that? He'd chased a few hares here and there and sure, he'd been fast but he'd never quite mastered it. Maybe they had just been humouring him when they said to join them.

"I'm Israfel and...I... can't really do anything..." he had finally spoken up after Jackdaw and Vincent had said their part, his lips taut with hesitancy as he met each of the males' eyes, "But... I'd like to. Maybe you could... find use for me somehow?" He had his size, after all. He'd make a good spy for a while (if he learnt how to be quiet) - at least until he started growing too tall. Or maybe he could fetch them things, like scavenged food or herbs or something. There had to be something he could do.
