It is refreshing to hear how much Spirane had changed. The scent of several wolves still lingered in the air, but it was beginning to fade and become something new and refreshing. To know she would be welcomed amongst the ranks made her tail wag happily as she nodded her head of thanks to the leader and took her first steps into her new home. Side by side, the two wolves walked deeper into the mountain pack and spoke together like they were long friends. Gaia liked how easy it felt to talk to Roman. He was gentle and kind, not to mention rather handsome. Of course, that wasn’t something she was going to admit out loud. He was an alpha and she was but a lowly caretaker. Quickly changing her line of thinking, she nodded happily as he spoke of care takers.

“I don’t think others realize how hard it can be to watch over the youth. They long for adventure and trouble seems to find them no matter what. I have never had children of my own so I can only enjoy other’s pups. I find them to be rather adorable.” She thought of the young wolves she had cared for when she had been in charge of them years ago. Maybe some of them had grown up and remained on the mountain! She would have loved to meet them again, see how they had grown and see what kind of wolves they had become.

Turning to Roman and thankful her fur hid her blushing cheeks, she wondered why he had chosen Spirane to be his new home. Well, no better way to find out than to ask. “So, why did you choose the mountains as your home, if you don’t mind me asking? What made this place stand out from the rest?”
