Re(2): Death of the Indy as a print paper
IP: 178.250.210.244

Don is talking of a sad end to the Indy. Is this perhaps jumping to conclusions? We learned in a rather shocking and abrupt item on the news that the print version was going to disappear at the end of March and an on-line version replace it. I am convinced that many people buy the Indy because of its excellent crosswords and the editorial team must be aware of this. Is there any reason why crosswords should not be part of this, also submitted electronically. This would really suit overseas solvers like us (who cannot, of course, get the print version of the Indy except when we are in the UK). They could cut the silly prosecco prize business - does any solver really want that? - and invest that in the fees for crossword editors and setters. Perhaps we should be expressing ourselves as a crossworld group to see what we can do.
