The Monster was enjoying her mid-day nap. She had been working tirelessly and healing all the same this spring. There wasn’t much she could do during the winter. She was ordered by her Frankenstein to not move that often. So, she began to develop habits such as sleeping during midday. She was curled up against her beloved imprint, the True Demon of Moladion, and she was quite content. She had managed the previous night to move around a bit more, joining him on an easy hunt, enjoying the feeling of being able to move again in such a more natural and healthier state. Earlier that morning she had gone out to see her children and observe them as she taught them how to fight. They were pups, but they needed to know at a very young age how to defend themselves, because one day they wouldn’t just be protecting themselves – they would be protecting others. After their training she had heard Tobias’ low growl, summoning her to his side to sleep, and she happily oblige because she felt tired herself. As she slept, quite comfortably, she was awoken from the voice of Cuirass. She knew very well he was patient to continue their training. It was not his fault that she kept being unable to teach him for a season, but it was not her fault either. Slowly she uncurled herself and pulled herself up away from her imprint. Bringing her head down she licked the side of his face, affectionately, before she began to head for the entrance of the cave where Cuirass waited. Dark sapphire eyes, speckled with violet, peered within the darkness of the cave as she moved closer towards the entry way, whispering softly and allowing her voice to carry along the cavern wall.
“I ought to have you just kill any challenger that comes along...”
Suddenly her form would emerge from within the darkness of her lair, her dial raised slightly above his own, as she looked upon the young wolf. Quietly she moved past him knowing without a doubt that he would follow. He was coming along quite nicely with his training and as soon as he turned four she would give him the rank he was fully entitled to – there was no question in that. Yet he would need to prove himself with a task. After all it wouldn’t look good if he was simply trained by her, she needed to make it fair, and she needed to make it reasonable. She had something in mind and if he could complete the task then the rank would be his, for as long as he was alive. Today he would learn what she assumed he needed to know and it would be good to throw him a curve ball. With a flick of her tail she summoned the boy to come closer to her and as soon as he reached her side she would make one comment, giving him an idea of what he would be working on today.
“You will learn how to fight on uneven ground...”
Moving along the bank of the river that flowed near her den she would begin to walk into the water, ignoring the sudden cold rush she felt as the waters ran past her legs and a bit of her stomach. The Monster knew that not every opponent would be fair nor would Cuirass have the ability to choose what and where a fight would take place. Sometimes fights occur all of a sudden. He would need to be adaptable and know what he can use as his strength and weakness. Pausing within the middle of the river she began to turn around facing the boy as her tail swayed side to side within the top of the river.
“I hope you can swim, if not, better learn fast.”
