Re(1): Death of the Indy as a print paper
IP: 94.174.153.76

Lots of good points. A concern is that there will be a dearth of new solvers as well as setters. We probably all had our interest in crosswords kindled by coming across one in a newspaper and I can't see anyone not yet into solving, seeking one out online. The Indy crossword editors, in particular, are publishing and encouraging some much needed, brilliant and refreshing young setters. I am no Luddite (OK I am) but at any time day or night my home is full of newspapers. And dictionaries. And crosswords. Online news (and crosswords) are easy to access these days. But not as satisfying as paper (and pen). I just hope (to echo Jane) that the puzzles will be printer friendly. But, concerning my must-have puzzle of the week; Life without my IQ will be a lot poorer. Trevor would be appalled.
