She seemed delighted with the news of her promotion, as he felt she should be. Lucifer was not one to reward stagnancy, and so far, Lucaya was his most promising candidate for permanent living arrangements. Valkyrie was a fighter, more prone to war than to "lower" tasks such as recruitment. Kirastasia had vanished, and he had not seen Hocus nor Drizzt since his first day as alpha. Ellis was won by alliance, and had yet to be tested. Katniss was new and also had yet to be anything other than a new face. One of the new females was blind, Ellis if he was not mistaken, and would be given a small margin to adjust.
Lucaya did not need asking. Lucifer stated what he wished and Lucaya made his wishes into reality. As Iota her responsibility to the pack would increase, but he would tell her all her rank entailed when they had a moment to spare. For now, he watched that midnight rear bounce with every stride the raven queen took as she made way to Spring Grounds. That she had spirited the blind girl off to another pack had him a little peeved, but her willingness to correct her mistake gave her the second chance to prove herself. Lucifer waited where she left him, brindled ears swiveling to catch the sounds of his forest home.
It does not take overly long, though in the time she was gone he had found a deer and was feasting on it when they returned. He looked the new woman over, listening as she spoke in hushed tones. "You sound like you've been told what to say often enough. Ellis, where do you imagine yourself within my ranks? What skills do you possess or what do you wish to learn?" Though he speaks to the blind female, those red eyes are constantly on Lucaya. He is proud of the woman who came to him as a queen who had been dethroned, and he has learned much about her. Her drive is admirable, and she seemed solid enough, but time would tell. A smile is given to the raven beauty, though he does not make any other move, there is a promise of conversation later. Perhaps a spar or two, just to blow off steam.
