He continued to lay in the grass, though he refused to let himself close his eyes and sleep. The world was too dangerous to take a midday nap, however satisfying it might feel. Jaeger shifted slightly, sighing, before something moving in the grass caught his attention. His head shot up and he was about to get to his feet before he saw the head of the female poke through the grass. A low, warning growl was let out as he hurriedly got to his feet. Today he would not be taken advantage of. His body was poised to spring at her at any second should she show a single sign of aggression, but it seemed that that would not be the case. She looked demure and submissive, and her words showed concern, not hostility.
Jaeger settled down some but remained standing, the long blades of grass tickling his underbelly. "Sorry. You... startled me." He said, violet eyes still staring her down. Though she did not seem like she would attack him, he still did not know her purpose in seeking him out. He had been fine, absolutely fine on his own. These days, it was really only his family that he would talk to, and he saw no real purpose in seeking friendships outside of his parents and littermates. But she seemed... friendly enough, he supposed, and it would be rude if he didn't give her at least a chance. As long as this wasn't an act and she wasn't going to turn on him the minute he let his guard down.
He let his body relax, not willing to scare her anymore than he might have already- though he was no trained fighter, he was giant, and Jaeger knew that he could scare her off if he tried hard enough. "No- I mean, yes, I'm fine." He gave her a small smile. It looked a little out of place on his scarred face, and if she was smart she would realize that he had been attacked before and that was the reason for his initial hostility. The boy was scared, scared and angry at just about everything, and now that he had lost his memory he wasn't exactly sure how to act around other wolves.
But introductions were in order, he supposed. "I'm Jaeger, from Diveen,"-the mention of his homeland sounded almost akin to a threat-"What's your name?" He paused for a moment, analyzing her scent and realizing that she smelt of foreign lands. Though he didn't get out much anymore, the scents of Moladion were still familiar to him. "You don't smell like you're from here." Jaeger tilted his head. "Where do you come from?"
