The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

The beauty of patience is in letting the sun
rise when it rises and shutting our eyes
when the dusk dawns believing the secrets
of life will come in the wake amidst the
crowing of the roosters.

Even in hard times, life was still meaningful. If things got bad it was usually for a reason. Everly knew this but she refused to accept the fate that Spirane had come up against. Daenerys was gone; her scent had travelled long away from the borders. Roman was the new leader and Everly felt threatened. He did not know her like her siblings and like Daenerys did but perhaps that was because Everly never gave him a chance. She never gave anyone a chance.

The quiet girl had finally slipped away from her siblings and with a new figure of fullness and weight, the runt was confident. She had been fed greatly to build up her muscle but she was still small. The rain that beat upon her pelt must have made her look like a drowned rat, but she wasn’t bothered by it. Her walk was peaceful and she felt different that before. Being alone was what she had always wanted after her mother had died.

It wasn’t long that Everly had come across a cave system, twisting and winding her way through the caverns. It was dark, damp, and nothing living had been seen for quite some time. She wasn’t sure how long she had been down in the caverns when her ears caught a faint noise from ahead.

She came from behind, the smell of several blinding her nose, and the fear of conversating flooding her mind. Everly was not a talker, but instead she was a thinker. She loped back, keeping her distance from the congregation and whining lowly as if asking how they had found her hiding spot. Everly was not thrilled. Not thrilled in the slightest.
