At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The cool waters swirled around her frame, lightly splashing against her body. In her attempt to feel relaxed, the vixen noticed a black figure shimmy through the tree line in her peripheral vision. Kythera swiveled her head around to see a brutish looking varg bounding just as happily as she had towards the water. However, in her portals, the brute looked dangerous and intimidating. All the fae could do was sink her pelt further into the water, as if it would somehow make her invisible to the oncomer. It’s not that she was unfriendly, because the femme made a wonderful pal, but Kythera preferred to not let wolves into her shell as easily. Too many times she’d turned down offers of courtship or friendship because of her shyness.

Strangely, the varg’s personality did not seemingly match his muscular appearance. Kythera watched with questioning whiskey-colored portals as the onyx wolf dipped beneath the surface of the lake, only to reemerge, seemingly refreshed. The vixen had to admit, the cool liquid was refreshing. Internals groaning in horror, Kythera watched as the brute inched closer and closer to her. It’d been awhile since she’d practiced her social skills; however, she was hopeful that they wouldn’t be rusty. Suddenly, the stranger’s kissers opened, deep vocals spilling out. "Wonderful day to be here, don't you think?" She pondered over the words for a moment, about to answer when he suddenly burst out once more. His voice wasn’t threatening as she’d suspected it would be, but… warm. Friendly, even. It was a wise thing to not judge a book by its cover, it seemed. ”I’m Ryka, by the way. May I know your identity?” His words were softly spoken, as if he knew what effect he could have on wolves.

”Yes, it is.” Kythera agreed with a nod. The varg was right; it was the perfect day for a swim in the lake. The spring sun was beating down on all inhabitants of the forest, thawing the chill that winter had brought. In fact, it had been the first time the vixen had swum since the previous autumn. There was no chilly breeze in the air as there had typically been; it had been replaced by a slight, warm draft of air that felt good on one’s pelt. ”My name is Kythera. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ryka,” she greeted, remaining polite but distant all the same. Even though he seemed kind enough, she wasn’t the trusting type who would open herself to a stranger right away, especially a brute like him. Her light colored portals scanned him over. His frame was large and tall, as most brutes are, but he was particularly larger than many other vargs she’d ever laid eyes upon. Underneath the inky pelt, Kythera could see muscles twitching. Awaiting a response, the fae playfully bobbed up and down in the water.
