Spring was here, bringing with it relentless flooding of melting snow, mud slides, and the beauty of child birth. The famine of winter had come to an end, prey had returned, new grasses were sprouting, all was well. The floods had actually decreased within the past few days, the soggy earth was beginning to dry, though in most places it was still damp. Hermione has spent most of her time in rocky areas to keep her light pelt from attracting the muddy soil, though it hadn't worked, and she had managed to cover nearly her entire body in the thick, gooey filth. That is why she had come to Leisure Lake.
Tiny little paws sank slightly into the sod with each step, pristine white fur no longer visible on her toes, claws plugged up with debri. It was only a matter of moments before she made it to the lake's edge, sand sticking to the mud, though it came off easy as the lakes water seeped into her silky plush fur. Her pelt returned to it's glorious, pure ivory state as she took a small swim, making her way to a large rock protruding from the water, just a few meters from the shore. She had decided that she would stay on the rock until the mid day sun had dried the mud on the banks enough for her to return to land.
Freshly cleaned claws helped drag her out of the water and onto the rock, muscles tensing up as she shook the liquid from her body. The fine brown hairs along her upper half were much more visible in her wet state of being. Her body relaxed as she lay atop the rock's rough surface, though she flopped around for a minute or two trying to get comfortable. After finding a nice way to lay, she scanned the water around her and the top of her rock, looking for something to keep her entertained.
