Only You Are the Life Among the Dead  |
_________________________________________________________________________ The young adult had not gone out of her pack to go and seek company of others. She was still not sure what had brought her out of Aurora’s territory, but she just let her paws lead her wherever they wanted. She tried not to let thoughts enter her mind, and just tried to relax and enjoy the weather that was beginning to warm up as spring came around. The snow that matched her pelt was beginning to melt, and much of the lands were covered in slush and mud. Her white paws turned brown as she walked through the foliage, limbs splashing in some of the water that was unavoidable. This was her first spring as an adult, but she did not remember it being as wet as this in the past. Maybe there was more snow fall than normal so there was more to melt, but she was unsure what the norm was. It was easier for her to focus on the environment around her instead of on the thoughts that threatened to drive her mad. The female’s paws continued to lead her without her conscious being aware, and before she knew it, she was in the dark, even though it was the middle of the day. Her green orbs took a moment to adjust to the lack of light in the caves, and she wondered why her subconscious had brought her here. Khaleesi became distracted again though when she caught the scent of another varg. She thought it odd that someone else was in these caves that very few ever visited, so she had to check it out. She remembered what had happened to her here and she didn’t want something like that to happen to another lupine if she could help. The female was on guard, not considering the fact that it could just be another innocent being exploring the caves. She caught the site of a male, darkly colored, the exact opposite of her. When her vocals echoed off the walls his blue orbs turned to look at her, and her emerald eyes met his. When a growl escaped her throat, she saw him rock back away from her. At least he was taking her anger seriously, which not many did with her petite size. She was never normally like this, normally she assumed the best of others before meeting them, but something about the place she was in, and how the brute in front of her reminded her of her kidnapper, made her different this time. The male’s vocals reached her ears as he answered her demands, which she really didn’t have the right to be demanding anything of him. ”I am known by the name of Kylo; Kylo Ren. My mind has been bothered by many thoughts lately. I came here seeking solace and peace in the darkness,” Her ears perked at the curious words from him, surprised that he would say something personal like that to a stranger. ”Forgive me, for I am new to these lands, but if these caverns are not for the public, I did not know. As for yourself, I ask the same question. What brings a lass such as you into such deep places? Many dangerous creatures slink about,” Khaleesi relaxed once she realized that he was not like the brute that she had encountered many moons ago. She was wrong to have assumed that he would be bad like the other beast. As his form walked along the wall of the cave she gave him a smile, hoping he would not be upset at her initial reaction. ”No, you are not wrong to be here. These caves are not owned by any pack. I just…had a bad experience here a while ago and had that in the back of my mind. I’m sorry I was rude. I’m Khaleesi by the way. And I’m not sure what brought me out here. I was just going for a walk and then realized I was in the caves.” Her orbs continued to look around in the darkness, but it seemed that there was nothing threatening around, though she was still on alert with a place that housed so many hiding areas. ”Are you new to Blossom?” Her vocals echoed as she talked, not used to the sound of it bouncing around.
