The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Despoina
A Little Missunderstood

Their similarities and differences seemed to calm Despoina to a point where she sat quietly. Whether Eleanor felt the same or not knowing that someone had even a little bit of understand brought an intense amount of comfort to the fine faced woman. It was not very often Despoina would sit and think about something, but now as she looked at the woman in front of her she took the time to really mull over what was being said. There was a question as to whether she should truly choose to give in to her desires. Her mind hesitantly explored the path of desire. For the first time since she had played with her sister in the mountains of Spirane she felt a flicker of happiness in her chest. It was new and strange to her, the light going out when she stepped back away from the path.

She chuckled at Eleanor’s statement. A knight in shining armor was the last thing she wanted walking into her life. If any one tried to play that role she would swiftly show them that it was she who was the monster to be slayed. Ears unconsciously flattened when she mulled over everything. ‘Not picky’ was not a string of words that could have been used to describe Despoina. She studied Eleanor in front of her and released a deep breath through her nose. The other woman probably had no idea that seeing Despoina so calm was a rare occurrence, though she could possibly guess.

With more than she cared for to think about, Despoina got to her feet. “You have given me a lot to think about.” She said softly. Her vulnerability echoed in her voice when the growls did not mask it. “Thank you, Eleanor.” A lot more politely than she had come in she stepped toward the way back out and paused at the entrance to the cave. “I promise, I will not tell anyone what you have told me. And… uh… I’m sorry about your bird. Any day you don’t want to catch something… I owe you a pheasant.” Shaking her head at herself, Despoina turned and jumped out of the cavern to pad her way back to the moors of Iromar.
