Wednesday, March 2, 2016 7:30 p.m at Orillia Museum of Art and History, Peter St S., Orillia.
The speaker will be Bill Sherwood, a club member with a great Bio,
including 9 years spent studying the Milky Way and its structure at Ruhr Universität Bochum, Germany .
"I shall give the classic picture of our solar system and where and why it breaks down.
It was fine as long as we only knew one solar system but now there are some 2000 exo-planets
revolving around some 1000 stars. I shall discuss the apparent demotion of Pluto from planetary status
and include some thoughts on the media coverage of "Planet Nine". "
