Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

There was always something to be said about anything that happened in the world around them. Be it from how someone came into the world, how they lived their life, or the circumstances of their death. The shift of the seasons are strange to those who have never experienced them, and only natural to those who have lived their lives in lands of change. Night and day are as different as those who view them, but still one in the same to those who still walk their lives under the reigning sun or moon. Strange things only seemed such to those who refused to question how the world worked.

White puppy claws dug into the soft dirt while youthful giggles bubbled from her lips as she ran. A small creamy gold shape ran through the tall grasses of the fields. On the dawn of her first fall it was already clear the girl was going to be long and lithe, a dancer and a runner. But now, she was a changer. She had changed the balance everything around her and had switched the natural order of things. As she ran, her heart raced in her chest as her stalker hopped behind her, using its own agile speed to keep up. The rabbit that had once been used to pay for her life had never let her too far out of his sight. The small grey shape was hot on her heels, paying no heed to the large pale shape of an adult wolf loping just behind them.

The three creatures, all naturally unnatural in this world basked in each other’s companionship and sport. No questions of how strange they all were crossed their minds, for they seemed to fit together in perfect harmony.

Dual colored eyes, blue and orange blinked on seeing the grey form of another wolf and Solstice came to a halt in a slide that would one day be effortless. Beside her, the rabbit too came to a sudden halt and stared up at the predator with his beady black stare. Far more refined than his daughter, Samhain stopped behind the two and stared at the stranger. Burnt orange flared stared from black eyes and a white mask. As he studied Sidhe his gaze seemed to shift in and out of focus, his ears twitching this way and that, as if he were hearing something else on the wind that stirred the grass.

Hello! The young girl greeted, a smile on her lips, her head tilting too and fro in curiosity. “What are you to this world?”

Not removing his gaze from the silver gray woman before them, Samhain lowered himself just slightly, his body tense. No other show of aggression showed on his features, merely a protective presence over the pup that was clearly his bloodline, and the rodent that sat beside her.
