The male was surprised that his niece…daughter…that Nzingha was taking charge and calling out for the alpha as the pair approached the borders of a new pack, but he was also proud that she was not afraid to do so. She had never been a timid femme, even when she had been a younger pup, and Summer loved the spirit within her. He liked to tell himself that it was part of his sister, Lady, within her that had lived on when she had died giving birth, but in truth Lady had never been as outgoing or adventurous as Nzingha. She was more like his other sister, Nymeria. Though he had not seen Ny in many moons, and presumed her dead, he still remembered how crazy and outgoing she had been. When he thought about them he really did miss his old family. But now he had Nzingha and was about to begin a new family with her at Munashii Gekko, if they were accepted into the pack that was. They were joined by a male and female before the Alphess made an appearance, but Summer greeted them both with a friendly gesture, glad to see that this pack was actively greeting others. His plume wagged behind him softly in greeting to them both.

What happened next did take Summer by surprise though. Danger’s form, one that was barely recognizable, came to them, and sat down heavily beside him. “Danger, I’m with them.” He had not seen the blind male since they had fled from the bears, and he could only assume that he had changed his mind about sticking together. At first Summer had blamed himself, assuming that Danger did not want to be with them since Summer had been unable to protect the pack and defend them. He had been hurt, but he understood that logic as it was true. One wolf could not defend against a family of bears, no matter how strong he or she may be, and Summer was no exception to that rule. His yellow orbs widened when he saw the male in such a state, skinny and the smoky colored brute instantly felt guilt swim through him. Why had he not searched Danger out to see if he was okay? Why had he not at least done that much for his old packmate? Silence passed between the group, as if they were all lost for words at what to say to Danger, and Nzingha was the first to react, throwing herself at the male. “... What in the fucking Fenris have you done to yourself you dolt!” Summer was baffled to hear such words come out of her mouth. Though she was not a pup anymore she still was not an adult, and he had never liked language like that. As her ivories began to groom what fur Danger had left on him, Summer leaned forward, not wanting to embarrass or berate her loudly in front of the others. ”Nzignha, watch your language. Especially when we are still trying to join a pack. It’s not respectful.” His orbs looked at her sternly for a moment more before he turned to Danger, nares sniffing over him for any injuries other than the lack of meat on his bones. ”Danger, I am so sorry that this has happened to you. I should have done more for you, should have searched you out after you left. I am sorry I failed you this way.” He knew that he was not Danger’s alpha anymore, and he was not pretending to be, but he had been a friend, and he had failed his friend.

Nzingha broke the silence again as she finally finished with her grooming of the brute, “You just had to go and up and disappear and be all Mr. Big Shot all ‘Oh look at me I’m Mr. Independent I can live on my own I don’t need no one’ and then you come back looking… The nerve of you! Here we are trying to join this perfectly nice pack, trying to find a new home but OH NO you have to show up like this all embarrassing like. What were you thinking?” Summer let out a quiet growl of warning to her to calm down. He knew that she thought of Danger as a friend too, but she did not have to make him feel bad for leaving. He felt that it was his fault that Danger had left and he did not need his daughter treating him this way. “Well now I’m just always going to worry about you if you leave so we have to hang out more, mmkay? So are we accepted or not? I really want to explore!” Her gaze turned back to the two Munashii wolves with her last words, and Summer let out a sigh, knowing that he could not stop her from acting the way that she was. He was not upset with her, the male rarely got upset, and he knew she was still young and learning how to behave. Really the more that he was with her he saw how like Nymeria she was, and he wondered if this was what his parents felt when they were raising her. His gaze turned apologetically them, but he did not speak for her or over her. She was old enough now that such things were unnecessary.

The male felt relieved once Horizon chuckled at the younger femme’s words. He was glad that they seemed to be easy going here. “You must excuse my laughter, but it gladdens me to see a family that remains capable of caring about each other. I welcome you all to Munashii Gekko and hope that you will allow yourselves to become a part of our little family. Prey has filled our borders once again and life is starting to fill out the pack once again, with all thanks to our Lady Ameira. I will offer myself to give a tour of the packlands, should any of you wish to stay with me.” A smile of his own appeared on Summer’s features, mimicking Horizon’s gesture. ”Thank you sir, we appreciate the hospitality into our new home. A tour would be welcomed. It will be nice to see our new home.” His paws stepped forward, taking their first steps into the new territory, into his new home. ”Where to first, Horizon?” He looked over to see if Nzingha and Danger would be joining, or if either of them preferred to explore on their own. His gaze also flickered to Artemis, wondering if the white female would be accompany them as well.
