During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

Rage flowed through heated bodies, and blood boiled feeding the fiery tempers that went going around. And even as the instigator left the two identical kalaks, save their eyes, there was nothing that could convey the flood of emotions that went between the two of them. Once soft pools of chocolate now glowered and flared with a somewhat controlled rage. Harsh breaths assaulted the air and it seemed as if barreling screams would too assault the air but none came. Only silence, broken by the intermittent shuffle of irritated paws and sharp breaths, but the bastard remained silent. Curled away in the depths of his mind, his memories, his past. The ugly monster that reigned within his crown had nearly broken free, he was slowly losing it. He was falling backwards and inwards, the cracks would begin show, but the softening of her breaths slowly brought him back to reality. The silence outside of his body had captivated his slowly dying mind and brought him out of the darkness. His blurred vision focused once again and ever so often he would catch a glimpse of her muddy puddles, the sun catching their glaze in just the right light. Their brilliance highlighted, the softness returning and he did everything to keep himself from staring. His own words slurred to his ears, his attention solely driven to stay out of her gaze.

The subtle shift of sunlight against copper feathers caught Horizon’s attention and his mismatched gaze rose to watch her façade break into a kinder understanding. She had remained standing, the crunch of leaves and grass beneath her paws alerting him this fact without having to look. As he gained the courage to look into his eyes, he found himself smiling and she too returned the gesture. Yes, I could use a break from Cold Summers. Especially after what just happened. I am in no rush to run back home to where my father is. Blackened paws moved in synchronized motions as the bastard stepped away and into homeward embrace, the fea fatale stepped with towards him and into his home. And she again took his offer of a drink, Sure that would be nice.

It was only a few minutes before the soft lap of water against silt and the babble of the stream across pebbles tickled his auditories. Shasta’s crown dipped to the river quietly, quenching her thirst. Time seeped by with the river as she drank down the water, and he almost had the mind to make a poor joke. But on his better judgment Horizon kept his trap shut and just sat off to the side of the femme, contemplating the areas to which he could take her. What area had the lad had time to explore well enough to remember? None really, but she didn’t have to know did she? Horizon jolted from his thoughts, Shasta’s lyrical voice taking control of his thoughts. I am sorry I yelled at you without finding out your side of the story. I never thought my father would do something like this. Horizon dipped his head, You were only defending yourself, I wouldn’t blame you for such things… Nothing could hurt as bad as what Akuji said to me. His baritone lyrics faded slightly. There was nothing that could hide the pain that flashed through his ember and mud optics, what Akuji had said was worse than anything Farant might have done to him. But Horizon shoved away the thoughts - he had more pleasant things to focus upon. She was more than just a distraction though, she was a new friend it seemed. At least that’s what he tried to believe the heat of his chest meant.

So, how do you like this pack? the bastard to a sip of the water before facing the woman before him. It’s peaceful and quiet and more than I could have ever asked for. It’s a bit quieter than most packs but a lovely place. a smile lifted his lips ever so slightly, but it can be a bit lonely at times. Horizon was only slightly joking. He enjoyed the solitude but without the company of Lady Ameira he felt the tug of loneliness. He hoped Shasta would stay a while and visit with him, maybe she’d visit or something. He wouldn’t have minded her company, she was rather understanding when not being riled by her father and his threats. I haven’t really had the chance to fully explore the whole of Munashii but it would be more pleasurable if I had your company, Shasta. The tilt of lips lifted into a fledged smile, his glittering ivories displayed in a gentle manner. The sting of his past and Akuji’s berating comments had started to fade in her company. Horizon was even beginning to feel happy again.
