Impassively she stands before the two curious visitors, dark azure eyes shifting from one to the next, as she explained the answers and provided them more information. The questions Tithe asked were quite uninteresting to her. It wasn’t that she thought his questions were foolish, rather, she found it unappealing and simply a waste of her time. Perhaps it was age that was causing her mood to go a bit cranky with the way she thought, but even if she didn’t care for the questions she remained unemotional. She provided neither of them any hint with just how droll this visitation was. It was his third question that caused her dark ears to point towards him, but she did not provide him a quick question. She couldn’t. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the brief movement of lips from Taika, a bit of her teeth shown, and the Monster’s thick fur instantly bristled as her black lips pulled back to reveal her row of sharp and deadly teeth. Taika may have not meant to show herself in a threatening manner, but since she was along the border of her territory, Tick Tock’s instincts pulled her into a defensive mode. It was a quick show of a reminder to the she-wolf that it would be wise if she refrained from any movement that might portray something she didn’t want to act out. It was only when Taika whispered her question did the Monster cover her teeth for a moment and then began an answer.
“Like you would with any prey you go for the young and the old, so yes, we thin the herd so to speak. Getting rid of the weak helps keep the population stable and strong. Others see us as a disgrace and yet you must understand – some wolves were born like this and cannot help it, and other wolves have just developed it on their own over time. I do not bring in a wolf and teach and train them how to eat their own kind, that in itself is a more terrible crime, and one that I do not and will not condone.”
Whether they were correct or not it did not matter. In her eyes they acted as they did and those that acted differently were allowed to call this place their home. She would keep them safe. No other pack would be as understanding. No other pack would be capable of knowing that someone within their ranks favored a different sort of flesh. Zeus and his partner were of no concern to her as of yet. It did not occur to her that Zeus was the reason why her Frankenstein had pups in the first place. As for the other one he had not done anything wrong to herself or her pack. What did concern her was why she was being asked all of these questions. It shouldn’t be anyone’s concern how she ran her pack or what her members. In fact she couldn’t imagine Tithe asking similar questions to any other Alpha. Annoyed she remained quiet quite ready to return to her moment of peace and quiet to herself and watching the golden boy and the darkened girl play. With his final two questions she responds casually finding his first question amusing, but grateful to finally get down to the reason why he had come all the way from the Mountains.
“There hasn’t been a wolf that was hunted that escaped from us. Now that you have this knowledge are you going to use it against the wolves that have trusted me to protect them and protect this land? This is a safe haven for all wolves, as I said before, and I will not let anyone exploit them or myself when I have been honest and we have done nothing wrong to others.”
