Orhan

Orhan looked up at the filly's prompting to see that Carisa had appeared, and stood a stone's throw away observing the situation. The stallion flashed a bright, sentimental smile at her. "Goodness, how you sneak about," he commented, being sure he had caught her eye before speaking.

His attention returned to his daughter, his gaze flicking back and forth between her mismatched eyes. He was just thinking to himself about how beautiful she was when she abruptly ducked beneath his belly. Bemused and surprised, he did his best to stand still and, when a broken version of Koray's name resounded from beneath him, the stallion's head shot up to observe his son's reaction.

Koray, as ever, was more or less stony-faced as he looked down at his new sibling. Only the slightest tug at the corner of his mouth indicated he felt anything other than complete indifference with the situation.

The next thing Orhan knew, his daughter was face to face with him again, her tiny nose touching his and giving him goosebumps. "Papa," she called him. He had to admit, he was somewhat grateful that Carisa had evidently already told her about them, and explained who they were. He had always found it somewhat awkward introducing himself to someone as their father.

"And what-" he began, but Carisa was one step ahead of him, indicating to their daughter that she should now introduce herself.

Feray. Orhan's mind raced, and a gentle swell of emotion rushed through him. His honey-brown eyes lifted to meet Carisa's, and he smiled again, more tenderly this time. It meant a lot to him that the mare had christened their daughter with a name from his heritage.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl," Orhan replied, his voice warm and heartfelt, and lowered his head to nibble at Feray's short little forelock. "Did your mother tell you that you have the sky trapped in one of your eyes?"

Behind him, Koray slipped silently away.
