Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I feel my lip twitch in amusement as she snaps her teeth; the forest, no? Perhaps I'd seek out something like this bird myself. The feathers are quite a rare sight, their vivid nature seldom seen among the shores. I wonder if the healers would have any use for them. It'd be a waste to merely discard them. Or, perhaps Nari should take them and build them into her den, a reminder of such a kill, as impressive as it is. It is with those thoughts that I tend to the bird as delicately as possible, trying my best to ensure the things remain intact and that the finest of its feathers are not torn or made wet. Difficult but ultimately worth the effort.

I nod in affirmation as she takes her half and I follow her lead, digging into the tender flesh. It is unlike the birds of the sea; it tastes lighter, fresher and I allow my tail to give a single wave of enjoyment as I feel her eyes upon me. "You ought to be proud," I finally speak, lifting my head and eyes once more to meet hers. I have no doubt she is already proud but I have come to learn that such... positive reinforcement is an important part of leading. Besides, she should be. It is quite a catch, rare and flavorful. I am half inclined to request that she show Alcmene such a place so that the wolves of Glorall might enjoy it all the more often.

For now, I take the bird between my jaws once more and pivot, pacing towards my den before stashing the bird in the cavern. I glance back at her with a nod of my muzzle, allowing her to follow suit if she sees fit. "Care to keep me company as I inspect the borders?" I tilt my head as I query her, stepping aside to allow her to use my den if she sees fit. There is more purpose to my request and I am sure she has no doubt of that; I allow my body to relax around her, my eyes drifting towards the direction of Diveen's borders. The river is all that separates us, after all, and so I pay close attention to it during these times of unrest. Nonetheless, I quite enjoy Nari's companionship. Perhaps it ought to make such a menial task more enjoyable.

It is then that I begin towards the northern borders, keeping pace with her truly. There is the slight air of challenge as I quickly change direction, weaving between a tree or beneath a low branch; one could say I attempt to make a game out of it, I suppose. I simply see this as a good chance to train together. She is swift and agile, after all, and it is something I could certainly do well to learn.
