2) RACE EVENT GUIDE

Once you're on our schedule, I have news about a change we'll be trying this year.
In the spirit of cooperation, we'll be working with Atlantic Canada's own Race Event Guide RaceEventGuide.ca to post your event page on the Web and promote it.

Instead of your event's "Details" link on our schedule leading to a page I make, it will lead to your dedicated page at Race Event Guide.
* Race Event Guide offers the latest in website design.
* Their website works on all devices so your Event page will look great on an iPhone or a tablet.
* Race Event Guide, as well as the PEI Roadrunners, will help promote your event through Facebook and Twitter.
* They have a dedicated PEI page on their website that provides visitors to their site with quick access to current upcoming PEI events.
* They will even customize your image for your event page.
* They like to have a nice detailed description of your event, not a short "flat & fast" so think about what makes your event unique (cookies, salads, clay roads, bagpipes, lighthouses, history, etc etc)

All our other webpages will remain as they are, the only difference will be that your individual Event Page will be created & hosted at Race Event Guide, not the PEI Roadrunners. We will continue to create & host the schedule, but clicking on the "Details" link there will take you to the Race Event Guide Listing. The information for the listing that you give us on your application will be shared with them so they can create your page and you can contact us or them with any changes you need made before race day.

I can't stress how important it is that you keep us up to date on any changes you make. Race Event Guide wants accurate information on their pages and when I send out a Race Reminder to our Mail List in the week before your event, I want to be sending our subscribers accurate information.

If you have any questions or concerns about this joint venture, please voice them. I do believe this will work very well for everyone concerned, Race Directors, Runners (Members & Non-Members), Race Event Guide, The Roadrunners Club (and their President/Webmaster) and the many charities benefiting from your events.

3) PROPOSED INSURANCE CHANGES

My "heads up" news is about a probable change to our insurance Policy. As of May 1st we hope to be offering Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance to Day Members at sanctioned events, not just to our Annual Membership. This will give you, your volunteers, and all runners Liability Insurance and give all your runners ADD (see Page 2 herehttp://peiroadrunners.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/80512922/PEIRR|0Insurance|0Policy.pdf for an idea of what ADD covers)

======================

As the new President of the PEI Roadrunners Club, I'm working very hard to improve the services we offer our membership and Race Directors. I hope you will support these changes and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I firmly believe that by supporting you Race Directors, helping you organize and promote well organized, safe events, that we are supporting our Membership & the running community and fulfilling our mandate to "promote the sport of running on PEI, and to encourage all Islanders to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle!"

Please help me build our schedule - get your application in today. If you need help you with it, please ask, I'd love to help you out. Then get ready to see your lovely new Event Page from Atlantic Canada's Race Event Guide and enjoy our combined efforts to promote your event.

The season is off to a great start with the Freeze Your Gizzard, St. Patrick's Day Run & Bunny Hop in the books. Let's carry this on into the coming months, working together we can make great things happen! Thanks for your support!

Thanks!
-janet
