PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

This Broken-Down Fantasy

Hard sapphire moved slowly to Impa when the Prime Minister approached. Adelheid softened just slightly in the presence of the old mare, the one who had promised to show her the world. This would be the day the world would face its judgement to her. It would be today she would learn if there was any truth to be told on this earth or if everything was truly a twist of turning swirling lies. Her nose reached out in a casual greeting Impaziena, inhaling and exhaling out of pure instinctual habit.

Her cold eyes looked back at her mother and brother. They narrowed against the words Inka had spoken. She cared for her mother, she truly did. There was a deep love that only blood between a mother and daughter could have. Just as strong was a growing distaste and mistrust. Her entire childhood had been spent feeling chained to her mother’s side. Now, the day she had decided to finally take the world by her own hooves she was being beckoned to stay once more. Stay longer. Hide from the world in these fucking mountains!

Ears flattened tight against her skull in her rage she threw her forehooves into the air, lashing out at the sky. Why?! She snarled with a feral wrath rarely seen in equines. Why should I stay? Your other daughter is missing, your other ‘son’ is a lie, and now you have yet another at your side. Why the hell do you need me? All the pent up fury she had been feeling throughout her childhood, ever since the night on the peak with the two stallions came erupting out of her. My sister is gone, my friends have seen a world I literally cannot even imagine, and you still hold me here! Hostage. No! The shining blues were even more alight as the stared at Inka. Just as the mare remembered a mother dying, Adelheid remembered a corpse of crumpled limbs and branches. Her lip curled into a sneer. You look pretty damn alive to me. Even through her rage she stayed solidly by her mother’s side. It was all she had ever known. The loyalty to her blood ran deep. It was a curse she could not turn away from. Simmering in heated anger she stayed, eyes blazing at both the mares. Deeper than the anger was her desire. Desire to be released and see the world. It was all she ever wanted.
