The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

She couldn’t quite place the feelings of winter. She grew uncomfortable and lonely nights grew more lonely as the time past. She could understand why her parents conceived another litter but more so than that she envied their company. She was the only one of her family of age without company. It burned in her mind as the blood and black male vanished she had no one to call on for company and yet she would live. This was life, plain and simple she would move on as she had in previous years.

Curiosity was always her biggest enemy and when she came across the scent she knew to be family she followed it simply to see what would occur. She knew little of her parents youngest children she almost half groaned at the thought of them but she had to be kind to her family at least in reservation. The blood that created her, created the others so certainly they could become a thing of greatness, no better than she at least. Perhaps, only her own blood would ever surpass her in the future but that wouldn’t be for a long time coming. She detested the idea of little whelps she had to care for and raise. She quickly shook the thought from her mind slightly gnashing her teeth keeping silent for observational purposes only as she glimpses the figure that carried the scent of her family’s distinction.

Enya over hear the child of which was clearly female going on about some names. Ironically enough she didn’t even know her younger sisters on name. She heard mother speak it when she saw her a moons ago but still it gained her little retain it at that point. Enya thought the child foolish and not to mention the child carried herself with a clumsy posture. Enya stifled a growl of frustration and anger. She desired so terribly to fix the child, certainly if her parents couldn’t she could. It wasn’t her job but she couldn’t have such a display in her family. She remained quiet though, she could keep an eye on the girl for the future and make sure she grew into something worthy.

The child before her was making her way into the cave system leaving Enya almost amused. She followed the girl silently just to see where she would wander off too. She had navigated a few of these paths when she was young to, agile and graceful enough to escape the jaws of other wolves that saw her a tasty treat. Her blood boiled slightly if anyone was taking the life of this whelp it would be her she refused to let anyone else do it and would protect the child if she needed to. As it grew dim and the bat screeched her attention was on the girl and tensed watching the girls reaction. Enya quickly made her way after the girl keeping some distance so her presence could remain undetected as the girl look back she stiffened.

Silly child was startled by a bat? She mused almost humored at the thought the girl moved on and so did she. Enya scolded herself as the child got out of sight only able to keep visual a few feet in front of her she made larger strides to catch up. Clicking and scraping of claws on stone made Enya’s pelt stand on end followed by a pitiful how. She wanted to be mad and angry just left the child but a nature she didn’t understand quickened her heart rate. Enya maneuvered to the child with ease grabbing her tightly by the scruff pulling her up as she backed away from the edge the child in tow. When she maneuvered the child in front of her she dropped her on the safety of the rock underfoot. “Outside. Go.” She warned her sister without fury or anger. Her tone simply leaking slight concern and frustration as she prepared to follow her sister to the safety the cave entrance and sunlight held.
