aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Warriors are not born and they are not made,
Warriors create themselves

Aindreas

As he rose to leave, he heard Losa calling him, begging him not to leave her and he murmured back to her. "It's okay, Losa, calm down. You are safe, this is my father's pack, they have healers here." He was still exhausted, but he could feel the tension brewing just outside of the den's entrance, and would push himself to de escalate the situation. Even as Aindreas explained to the wolves present that this brute had not been Losa's attack, he heard Losa explode out of the cavern and manage a name before she ran to the stranger. It seemed that Aindreas' inference about the brute's identify was correct after all. Arctics watched the two embrace, but the words they said were lost on him as darkness swept over him again - between his wounds and the effort exerted from carrying the ess, it was all too much. Ivory fur dirtied once more as he collapsed into the den's entrance with a thump, the steady rise and fall of his ribs showing that he was still alive.

Hellene:

The ess shook her head as the scene unfolded, Aindreas explaining himself, Losa running to the brute, and the two sharing an intimate moment of whispers and explanations... Whatever they were saying was unknown to the rest of the wolves who could surely not hear them. Hellene did not much care - she just wanted to go back to treating her patients, and began to spout out orders as Losa returned to the den, and was glad when everyone jumped to their jobs. Khaleesi had already been probing the hessian for additional unseen injuries and once she was finished moved inside where Losa was waiting. Sebring dragged Aindreas out and began to grab herbs from Hellene's garden without direction, chewing them into a paste until it was the correct thickness to be applied to the brute's wounds. Khaleesi was doing the same inside, examining her patient, and soon after came out and went to her own garden to grab herbs she needed, mainly grabbing the same herbs that Sebring had before returning to the inside of the den. Briefly, a wave a pride ran through the healer, that her students were not only attending lessons and learning, but were retaining the information from the sessions, and had an air of independence that allowed them to work outside of her commands.

Sebring's vocals snapped her back into the present with a question for her and Hellene nodded and moved to Aindreas' side. Gently, her nare's probed the brute's raw abdomen. The last muscle layer, though thin, was strong and was unbroken. "If we had trees growing here that had oversized leaves, we could wrap his abdomen to put some more tension on it, but we will have to just make him lay still for a few day on clean ground. Poultice it thick, and put an extra label of intact moss on the outside of the poultice for extra padding." Her ambers rose as she glanced upward toward the brute. "You there, Hurricane. Come with me." She did not glance back, to see if he followed her, expecting him to listen to her. she searched until she found a thin, low laying branch and stood on her haunches, pushing her weight upon it until it broke. "Help me drag this back, now, no complaints." Hopefully with his help, she dragged the branch back to her den. "We will roll him onto this to keep the dirt out of his injury." Gesturing to Hurricane and Sebring, she took up a position and gently rolled the brute over until he rested on the branches covered in soft pine needles. "This will also allow us to move him around easier." Turning to Hurricane, she stared at him for a moment. "You certainly have enough blood on you to know how to fight, but that is a story for another day. Go get a deer and bring it back. We will all need food to keep up caring for these vargs, and Aindreas and Losa will need to be nourished." Limbs moved her into a trot so that she could peer into the den. "Darling, you are doing well. We will be right back." Turning to Sebring, she smiled softly. "Come with me." She grabbed her hollowed out log and dragged it down to the stream. "This is good for lessons, but it is also helpful for carrying water. Next lesson I will have you and Khaleesi make your own, but for now, help me carry this one to help prevent the water from spilling out." Slowly, the pair dragged it back to the den, where they put it midway between the two patients so that it could be easily moved to whoever needed a drink first. Laying down, she waited for either her daughter to ask for help, or for Aindreas to wake up. Whichever happened first, if at all, not knowing that Aindreas would be asleep for a few days.

Through trial and error, pain and suffering,
And their ability to conquer their own faults
