The Cavern of Secrets holds much more than you can imagine. Once a forbidden place, the ban on entrance has been released...yet, is it a good idea to enter?

Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

'i’m sorry - i didn’t mean to...cause you any problems. you should have stayed in cold summers.' Akuji growled and shook his head, throwing his vocals around the cavern but they only succeeding in reverberating back toward him. "How am I supposed to stay in Cold Summers if you are not there? How am I supposed to rest if you are on the move? How am I supposed to heal if you have me traipsing around this whole goddamn land? How am I supposed to protect you if I cannot heal!?" His vocals rose to a shout, deep, barrel chested breaths providing the volume to carry his voice, and when he fell silent he found that he was out of breath, and that his words echoed off the walls until it fell once more to a dead silence, only the occasional drip drip drip of water falling from stalactites breaking the silence. It was eerie, the absolute silence. There was no wind, no birds, no crackling twigs here, but rather the absence of sound, and it was deafening.

The hessian continued to shake his head, absolutely at a loss of words... But conflicted emotions ran rampant in his veins - annoyance, anger, pain, more annoyance, confusion... And a little bit of something else. But then the cough was broken by something other than the water droplets... A cough from the Princess... And Akuji lifted his head so that his muddy pools could glare at her forehead, for that was all that had faced him since he had confronted her, but to his consternation, he found instead her dualies staring at him, locking onto his gaze. Akuji's lids slanted, showing his displeasure, warning her to not dare say anything in argument to what he had said, but then she completely and efficiently disarmed everything that had been about to pour from between his lips with simple motion.

- a smile -

And then, perhaps, even worse, she spoke a single word. His name:

- Akuji. -

The kalak's jaw dropped as if stunned and his facade went slack. As Shae so often did, she sent his train of thought skidding off its tracks by doing something that he had not expected. Confusion set in, and his brows furrowed to - for once - show his emotions clearly. It was at times like this, when he was off guard, that he was most vulnerable, the only time that it was possible to see through the masks and the walls and the costumes and charades into his dark abyss of a soul and see the pain. To see clearly the broken puzzle that had not only been torn apart from its original and actual picture form, but a puzzle that had had a few pieces stolen away. He was a few cents shy of a dollar, a few morals shy of sane. And Akuji did not know how to react. Fear irrationally entered his mind - could she see him? Here in the darkness, could she see the child's heart that had been battered and bruised and torn and ripped to shreds day after day until the organ that was left there did not at all resemble a heart at all, but instead something monstrous? Could she see into his prison, see the terrifying and ugly monster that was waiting patiently behind its bars, picking one of the million locks that had been clasped onto the deadbolt? Could see see his sins - the lives he had taken, the lies he had told, the wolves he had betrayed, the heartache at the center of all of it?

'If you’re going to be going to another pack with me, we should give up this charade of you being in the shadows.' "But all that there is is shadows..." The words were mumbled, hardly audible, and he spoke as if in a trance. For his mind was so broken after being hypnotized and brainwashed by his father, that with the right trigger, the right action, it was reset into its most basic action - innocence. Pure and unsoiled, something that could be molded. Something that had the potential to be softer than the fur on a pup, purer than the night sky... Someone that could learn how to love both himself and others without inflicting any pain upon them. But it was also the form where he was able to be formed into the most evil of beings, murderous, treacherous, sociopathic, psychopathic, whatever word you wanted to put to it. And that had been what his father had done - taken advantage of his beautiful, innocent son, and turned him into something ugly. But this fae had set the reset button, and thus would see him in this form for however long it would last.

She grinned at him wider, her smile reaching the corner of her eyes and like a cobra that was trained by a flute, he moved closer, swaying ever so slightly to the natural lilt of her voice. ' I promise i’m not going to bite if you decide to actually walk with me. it’s getting a bit odd, you know - you just appearing when you think you should.' Akuji nodded according, accepting everything that she was saying, and moved even closer until his forehead rested in the crook where her nape merged with her shoulder. And for a few minutes he stayed there, the occasional whimper pulling itself from his maw... Until suddenly the trance ending. Leaping back from her, he growled as his weight shifted onto his broken limb. "Damn you..." He turned away from her and shook his head, not entirely sure what had happened... Only that he had a break in his memory and had awoke at her side, touching her. He turned from her toward the entrance of the cavern. "We should go."
