The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

'Don’t you want to leave?' Macaria had nearly been asleep, content in the cocoon of warmth that had surrounded her as she huddled against the walls of the den when his vocals suddenly woke her, restarting her mind. A soft whimper was bit back as she lifted her head so that her orange pools could peer at him though the darkness. She had just finished thanking him for allowing her to remain in his den, and he now wants her to go? The eboness knew that her skills were not up to par with those of other healers in other packs, but she had been planning on leaving in the morning. She wanted to have the whole night to rest before she set of on a trek around the whole of Blossom Forest... But it seemed as if she would be leaving tonight. All Macaria wanted to do was to make Grey happy, to ease some of his burden and to be useful. If leaving now was what was required of her, she would not defy him. Filled with trepidation, she reached out toward him with her nare's but stopped before she even came within inches of his hairs - he had been upset with her when last she had caressed him... She may be naive but she was not stupid. The fae withdrew her head and nodded even though the brute would not be likely able to see clearly her motions. "Of course, Grey. I wish to leave tonight so that I waste no time in my searches. Perhaps the sooner I leave, the sooner I return?" She paused, hoping that he would give her some sign of affirmation, that if she completed this mission, he would be proud of her, or at least approve of her... "I promise I shall not dally or explore more than is necessary to learn, I shall not be idle in this, my task." The ivoress rose to her paws and shuddered, shutting her lids and clenching her abdominal so attempting to push down the fear that was rising in her belly, the bile that threatening to rise up in her throat. "Think better of me, Grey." without another word, she slipped out of the den and took off at a lope, wanting to hold rue to her word that she would not rest, would not waste time.

Paws ached by the time she had been travelling for but an hour, and the ess had to slow her pace to a trot. Being holed up in Grey's den had caused muscle atrophy to steal from her her endurance. Still, the ess pushed on despite her weariness not stopping until well after midnight, and even then she only paused long enough to take a drink from the river that she was following and to take a quick nap. Then she was up and travelling north again, for her plan was to sweep the whole of Blossom Field, and it made the most sense to start at the northern border, starting with the single highest peak seen on the horizon. She had no name to put to it, but it hardly mattered, did it? For days she travelled, only sleeping, eating, and drinking when exhaustion stole her strength from her. She had never been taught how to hunt properly, and so her meals were small, barely filling her belly so that she had to grab a meal nearly every day. Without relent she pushed herself, never ceasing and never letting up. Even when she ascending the steep slope of the mountain, its slick path speaking of danger to her health, a few cascades of falling rocks nearly stealing her footing, never did she stop. Only once she reached the very tip pity top did she rest. She had met at long last her first goal, and now all that was left for her to do was to search out wolves and hope that either they were healers or that they knew of healers for her to search out. But as Macaria peered down at the lands below,a small sense of wonder came over her. Never had she realized before just how expansive the whole of Blossom Forest was, how far she would have to travel... How long she would be gone...

A sudden cry pulled itself from her kissers and she succumbed to tears. She missed Grey and the safety of his den... And feared failing his high expectations. Laying down, allowing self-pity to seep through her veins, she cried until her ducts were dry, for Grey, for a den, for a meal, for a long rest, until she fell into a fitful sleep for more than a day, her petite body finally succumbing to its most essential of needs.Whoever came upon her would see only the shadow of her true form. Thought not solely skin and bones, she had drastically lost weight and thinned out, only the recent muscle growth from her incessant travel giving any form to her skeleton.
