aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

It felt like lightning struck at her heart and the course of her blood thundered through her ears. It was deafening and the Ethiopian Queen wanted to escape it all, she wanted to released what she had withheld from her sister’s grasps for all these years. She wanted to be the one to acquit Seraphina from the prison of ignorance that she had thrown into. The little ess didn’t deserve to stay blinded from the truth but the time was not in either of their advantages. Dante had forced Seraphina’s paw, she had no say in what was happening to her. Above all of this commotion and conflicting emotions was her desire to protect Sera above all else. She did not want to leave Sera alone should she die in this endeavor, but Dante would do everything to keep this from happening. But the soft, whisper of her younger sister made her yearn more and more to turn tail and run away, I don’t want to wait that long… She had no words to consol the pain or feelings of abandonment. It had been so long since she had combated her emotions in general that Dante felt at a loss for what to say. She merely stared ahead, trying to keep the tears from her eyes. Dante was obliged to regain her composure at the arrival of the princes, Queen and King.

She watched with a keen gaze as the Prince’s interacted with her. Their likeness juxtaposed to their starkly contrasting views on the world. One felt at ease amongst strangers and the other felt at odds with them. They were a veiled threat in his eyes and Dante felt somewhat worried about the influence this youngling would have on her sister. She realized they were of similar ages and would most likely be spending most of their time together, but would this little steely brute allow that? Dante flicked her gaze at Seraphina gauging her reaction but she found nothing out of the ordinary, she was not offended by this little show and so the Queen felt a little more secure in her choice. And her spirits soared as Seraphina admitted proudly their relations. Dante’s silvery and violet orbs glittered happily. She had never wished more dearly than to just settle at a rivers edge and spend time with her sister. They needed the time, and alas it was not available to them now.

Dante allowed herself to open slightly as she spoke about her upcoming tribulations and of her sister. Her last living family member… The Ethiopian lady felt a soft, gentle pressure on her paw and looked down to see Sera’s emerald gazers looking into own pools of quick silver. She was no more pleased with the situation and Dante cringed internally hoping was truly doing right by her sister. Kalgalath picked up the silence and filled it with words of encouragement, We can relate at least to the desire to protect your family, and the want and need to create a place that is safe for them. I do hope that you have plenty of wolves backing you, for Summer - the wolf who previously ruled there - informed me of not one, but two bears taking up inhabitance. With cubs. By now, they are likely nearly grown, so you could either be lucky and find one adult and the cubs gone, or you could be very unlucky and find them all present still. Be careful... But have at least your mind at ease. Your sister is welcome here as long as is necessary. Just as we had an alliance with Summer, our alliance will extend to you as well if you are successful in your endeavors— Dante felt her tight lips part into a small smile. A wave of relief washing over her, You have consoled my fears and I thank you for being so accepting of my sister. Whatever the outcome I will not let you bear the entirety of her life, but I will owe you for taking her under your wing for the time being. Dante let out a soft breath that she had been holding in. A tremendous weight lifted from her shoulders.

The Ethiopian Queen would find no room to squeeze in another word as the ashy prince leapt up from his position, the grin on his features wider than ever before. Welcome home Seraphina! Dante felt a tear well up at the sentiment. She realized the prince had addressed her and she smiled kindly at him, Thank you Castiel. Keep her out of trouble, she can be quite mischievous. Dante teased lightly trying to erase the sudden ache that rose in her breast. She was truly saying goodbye at the moment. And maybe it was more of a ‘see you later’ but she had only just gotten her sister back… and she was already pushing her away. Dante dipped down to her darling sister and kissed each of her cheeks, I will be back for you Seraphina. You’ll have fun while you’re here, you’ll make new friends and I think you’ll find that you will be too busy playing to miss me too much. The words were almost more for the elder sister, but she spoke them trying to keep Seraphina from thinking that this was another forever goodbye.

I love you Seraphina.

Dante whispered the words quietly to her sister. Her forelimb wrapped around the little princess pulling her tightly to her chest. I’m so proud of you Seraphina. She cooed quietly into her sister little auditory. She meant it. Seraphina was doing something Dante herself might have never been able to do. Family meant more to the Ethiopian Queen than anyone could have ever guessed and Seraphina’s compliance with this plan was more than she could have ever asked for. Dante let her limb go limp and release her sister into the embraces of Aurora Borealis, I cannot thank you enough, Kalgalath. Your kindness will never be forgotten. She spoke with confidence once more as she rose to her paws. It was time for her to return to those she had promised a home for. Dante looked to Seraphina one last time, a gave her a n encouraging smile before she turned away. Her lithe fiery bodice disappearing back into the shadows of the woods, heading towards her little pack on the shore.
