What do we say to the god of death? Not today.

Life had been up and down for the female, but it seemed to be coming back on the upswing. She no longer awoke with nightmares of his sister’s death, but sometimes the image still came across her mind. She figured that she would never really lose that image. Seeing her sister, who was older but smaller framed than Nymeria, was in a pool of her own blood, her chest no longer struggling to breathe as she had already died by the time that she had gotten there. Instead of staying within Moondown Shadows, where the pups that Lady had died giving birth to, would live, or so Ny assumed, she fled the scene. She knew that she would not be able to step back into that territory without being overwhelmed by what had happened. With all the tragedy that had overcome her family when she had been much younger, she thought that Lady would always be with her. The two sisters had kept each other alive when they had no one else, and now her last tie to home, the last of her family was gone. And Ny had thought that she was surely going to die as well.

But then something had happened that made her realize she was not ready to give up on her own life. The multi-hued female had been kidnapped by a white demon, one that had haunted her dreams for a long time, and had been tortured to the point of death. But she had fought to survive. Finally, the male had grown bored with her and had left her to die up in the caves of the mountains. Instead of turning over to take the easier way out and to let death take her, she did not let any reapers come and take her from the earth. Somehow, and really Ny did not know how, she had no recollection of this, she had made it. Ny remembered what had happened with the scarred male, and then she remembered finding her friend Romulus. Or rather, Rom had found her. But she could not tell him how she had made it down the mountains and how her injuries had healed, but they had. She still walked with a limb, remembering how her limbs had been dislocated and most likely healed in an awkward and not entirely correct way. But in the end she was still alive, and that was all that mattered. Her wounds healed enough that they did not impair her from running or hunting or enjoying life, even if they did pain her every now and again.

And now the multi-hued female had found a new home to join. Spring Grounds was a nice pack, one that she felt that she could really grow to love as a family. They were a nice bunch that had accepted her easily, and she was glad that she had found a pack like this one. Pack meetings had gone on and she had helped with a pack hunt. She was doing all that she could to show that she wanted to be a real part of this pack. But one day as she awoke in her den, she decided to head out of the territory and do some more exploring of Blossom. Nymeria had been here for a while, but she still enjoyed going out and potentially meeting new vargs. Her paws carried her through the trees, not in any rush to be any place in particular. She found a small stream within the territory, and decided to follow it. Paws splashed into the water every now and again, her plume hanging lazily behind her as her tongue lolled out. She passed over the border, Stormy Horizon’s scent strong on the border. Trees made some areas dark and filled with shadows, while others were open and sunny.

After some time. she began to recognize where the stream was taking her. It began to widen a bit, and then it joined up with a much larger river. Romance River to be precise. She had traveled through here before, but had never really stopped here before. But Nymeria had grown thirsty from her walk, and padded over to the river once more, stepping in to cool down her paws and limbs. She leaned down to lap at the cool water. There was a unique taste to it, but she had never drank from here before, so maybe it was just a little different. She thought nothing of it, and continued to drink, letting the water run down her throat. Once she had had her fill, she padded out of the water, claws gripping at the rocks that lined the area. Her yellow orbs looked around, seeing some vargs together and talking, and some were by themselves. The more she looked around, the trees and lupines that she could see grew hazy. She shook her head, fixing her vision, but within a few seconds it was hazy again. As Nymeria took a few steps, she stumbled a little, unsure of what was going on. Her frame went towards the shade, flopping down into the grass as she continued watching the others, wondering why her head was so hazy and fuzzy, but not concerned about it for the time being.
