The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

with every rain comes a fresh breath of life

He could understand her thoughts, her worries about him and loners in general. It was quite the opposite of his thoughts now. He knew all the packs were innately decent in their intentions, but still no one but Jax would know if he was missing or hurt. Wolves in packs also had that back up that he did not and despite having links in Diveen Ame knew that if someone where attack him there would be little that Diveen or even he could do about it. So in a way while the risks were quite real and understandable for her, perhaps it was more terrifying to know he could do nothing about it if someone went after him. At the very least Samia had wolves abound to search for whoever would hurt her, and while Ame did not doubt his father would try to seek retribution, if another pack attacked him there would be little he could do. Though honestly the thought never truly struck him before. He hadn’t done anything wrong, so it wasn’t really a worry he thought of often. Later perhaps when he started protecting others, like Samia from wolves who might want to harm her for no reason, but not yet.

Really the two of them were not that different. Ame also had been very scared and skittish as a child, but like Samia had hit that turning point where it was time to no longer hide but step forward and start walking your own path. He wouldn’t have been able to tell seeing her now. She seemed kind and nice to be certain, but afraid was certainly not something he saw in her now. However he couldn’t help but smile, it seemed his way of speaking always caught the interest of many and as much as he wanted to help it, he didn’t want to help it either. He probably could make himself go to their way of speaking if he thought about it, but why think about, just do what comes naturally and leave it at that.

He was pleased she accepted his help and soon he was walking towards an upper tunnel, his slate form careful to stay ahead of hers so she could follow him closely and not get lost in the maze of grotto’s tunnels. ”This one speaks as his mother speaks, that is all.” He said turning to look at her with another soft understanding smile. Really it seemed the first thing many spoke to him about, feeling though perhaps she would like more information he continued, ”She is not from here, but elsewhere, she has taught this one much though and is a wonderful wolfess. This one’s father speaks as everyone else does, but this one was around mother much more than father.” At that point he didn’t really want to say much more. His father vanishing, leaving his mother to raise them for a good several months with just their mother. It had been a dark time for his little family, but one he didn’t feel was important to continue with.

There was a dipping sound not far now, this area was very moist compared to the other parts of the cave a little closer to the surface. ”You should look around here, the fungi you seek will grow in abundance in this area.” He says then watches her set to whatever search she has. He wondered if it would spur more questions but he didn’t mind helping her out or indulging her in some of her curiosities, she was nice so it felt nice to be able to aide her even if it was something so simple as pointing out the direction of some mushrooms.
