Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Straying from her was something I felt certain I could not do. Not in this moment anyways as I look upon her moonlight beauty. Each movement of hers is matched by one of mine; she is the sun and I am the earth, falling her orbit. I could track for days and her, I could track for a lifetime. That no scent clung to her of a lover or mate inspired me. While I was certain it would not have daunted me, I was also certain that I could have won her. That I WILL win her. Already her soul belongs to mine, the matching piece that had been taken well before my birth, and it was time my puzzle was solved. Her fleeing movements come to a halt and she eases towards me, my own ears standing to attention, the open, excited look on my face inspiring her to speak. A wicked smile curls on my lips as I shuffle forward a step too - who cares about personal space when you belonged together?

"Because I can't but also because I wouldn't want to. To see you is to see the light in a world so dark that I have been blind. Do you not feel the same? Deep in your marrow, in your very fiber? Tell me it is so, else I will not know what to do!" Okay, so my words were sly and sweet but they also were a bit dramatic. So sue me, I wanted to woo the girl, to flatter her in every way but only because it was true. I had never spoken such words to another even if I had complimented and flattered before.

The play begins and she pivots. I slow. She butts her head against my chest but I refuse to budge, enjoying the way it rubs against me; she darts away and I am swift on her tail. She spins and I stop - she bows and I lower my head, tail rising in excitement. You will get bored if I'm not a challenge. The words alight a fire within my blood stream and I laugh, carefree and confident, but also extremely interested. She nips at my paws and I dance for her, not because I can't put a stop to it but because it is what she wants and I feel the need to play. "You haven't seen the meaning of fighter yet, lady moon, but you will." She is a mystery that I want to solve. She has no name as of yet but she is the embodiment of perfection to me.

So when she peaks from behind the tree I take off after her, racing in when I get close to bump at her legs and hips and ribs, never biting, never pushing. Just enough to let her know that I was there, that I wasn't going to fail this test. Then I would break away and weave around trees and race her from a distance only to zoom in once more. My silver-blue eyes seem to glow with pride and with longing.
