I've noticed some large changes in tech since the 60s when I built a Heathkit flasher.
1) Fishing Mags to real-time Internet/media info
2) Flashers to side-scan digital sonar
3) Trianglation/paper map location to GPS units
4) Oars to ETMs
So I kinda agree w/the topic OP, but I also know where you are coming from -that's why I said interesting read...
