Cold sapphire eyes looked over the pups, one by one, looking them over for any physical flaws. Deep down she was happy that Nakato was able to have a family of her own. She wanted the bob-tailed wolf to have happiness. She was rather fond of the she-wolf before her. After all, she stormed all the way to Diveen to take her Frankenstein back to her home, after Diveen foolishly stole her. The Monster was possessive and overprotective of those that lived within the fields. Nakato was a part of her pack, she was family, and she wanted what was best for her family. Hearing the comment about her face come from Jakuta, caused the Monster to stare at her for a moment. Sapphire eyes did not blink as she slowly lowered her dial until their muzzles barely touched, allowing the girl a better look at her mauled face. She remained eerily silent, testing the girl in her way, wondering if perhaps she would want to open up her trap again and speak. After a few eerily silent moments has passed she would lift her dial back up and listen as the pups yelled at her for how she would treat their Mother. For a moment her dial titled to the side in a curious manner looking over to Nakato as she whimpers and lowers herself. Slowly she moves between the small pups and stands before Nakato, not bothered if one of them really did try to attempt to bite her toes. Slowly she would extend her neck as she allowed her muzzle to gently brush along Nakato’s on muzzle. Her cool tones slipped gently, but firmly over the shouts of her children.

“Why are you whining and whimpering? Why do you cower before your own children...why do you cower before me? Have I not done what I am supposed to do as an Alpha – to watch over you and the others, to ensure your protection and health are well? Do you see me threatening you or their own lives? I asked you two questions...I did not threaten you.”

For a moment she simply stares at Nakato. Surely her Frankenstein would understand. The Monster did not appreciate being accused of doing something she would not do. She was not one that would harm her own. After her own experience with her previous pack, the way they treated her was absolutely uncalled for, and she would not use their techniques on the pack she now has. Turning away from Nakato, the Monster would circle around the small family, sitting herself now across from Nakato with her pups between them.

“Have you known me to punish anyone? The punishment you expect to receive from me is nothing, but the punishment you deserve was done to yourself. You did not tell me about your children and because of that no one in the pack is aware of them, they did not receive our full attention and care during their first years of life. They did not get the chance to meet other members, to meet my own children or the other pups in the pack. What would have happened if one of them was in danger or got kidnapped? How am I to ensure their safety if I never knew they existed? Do you see the error of your ways...do you see how it not only affects them, but it affects others as well? This mistake was your own doing, not mine.”

Once she heard who the pups Father was there was a sudden pang she felt in her heart. Their Father was wanted by Diveen and what she learned from Majora and Lonhro he would be a problem, along with this other male-wolf, his assistant. Zeus would not be allowed anywhere near Asteraia. What if a Diveen wolf saw Zeus within her lands. The alliance would be threatened and she did not want her pack to suffer the consequences from these pups and their Father. She had to protect the pack. She had to protect their children and their Mother, and she was deeply troubled. Looking to the pups and back to Nakato she wanted to express and make it absolutely clear to all of them. These pups were hers to protect and she would do everything she possibly could, and one thing being, to tell them the truth.

“Their Father has killed innocent lives in the Diveen pack. We are allies to them. I do not see Diveen using the lives of these pups as a way to coerce Zeus to them, but from what I know he has caused a lot of problems for them, and the possibility to force him to come out by using his children is concerning. I can protect you and them as much as I can, but Zeus is never allowed within Asteraia. If you want to see him or you want to take the pups with you I would suggest the outer lands, but if Zeus comes here I will have to hand him or provide information about him being here to Diveen. If anyone threatens these children then they will have to deal with me and this pack.”

The truth is harsh, but so is life. The children needed to know about their Father. She did not know if Nakato was well aware about Zeus or not, but what is done is done. Looking down upon the pups she lowered her dial so she could meet them at eye level. She was rather proud to see that they were so quick to protect their Mother. It was good that they wanted to stand up for someone else, no matter the consequences, but she would not voice that aloud. They didn’t need to know about it. After all they should be respecting her, whether they disagreed with her or not. Her cold voice would switch to a more stern tone, making it absolutely clear that they should listen well to what she had to say.

“Children, in this pack we do not tolerate weakness. In this pack you will find wolves that are similar to you and different from you. We work together, we watch over one another, and we protect one another. Everyone in the pack has a role, a purpose, and it is something everyone strives to perfect. There are many ways in which you can serve your pack. You could be a hunter and provide food for the pack, you could be a great warrior, and protect the pack by watching the borders or being with another pack wolf if they are in need of protection when they leave the fields. You could be a recruiter, a wolf that goes into the loner lands and search for new members and bring them here and teach them about our pack. You could be a spy and roam the lands, learn about what is going on outside the fields and bring back that information to us or even kidnap a wolf if you are clever enough. You could be a diplomat and work on creating and strengthening our bonds with packs we are allied and packs we are not allied with yet. You could also be a great healer like your Mother. You may want to do all the assignments or you may not know which one is best for you – either way you can take the time to learn from those above you and figure out if the task is a best fit for you or not. Maybe you are interested in any of them, but you have a different idea on how you want to serve the pack, tell me, and we can come up with a plan for you. The point is this – we are pack and every member will serve the pack.”

She would pause for a moment to make sure everything she told them sunk in and she would speak once more.

“If you know which role you would like to take a part in let me know now, or if you have questions ask them away, you don’t have to make your decision now, but by Spring’s end you will need to find something you want to do or work on.”
