Re(2): 's = has

Isn't the very point that if the apostrophe s is not also valid as a shortened form of 'has' in the sense it is meant, then the clue does not 'say what I mean'? If it doesn't the solver has to remove the last bit of the word and replace it with a separate word for the clue to say what it means. I don't think it is quite the same as nouns looking like verbs, which of course would still have to be nouns whatever they looked like.
