Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

GRiMOiRE:

She’d heard the howls, but she was a ways away. And she didn’t feel hurried. She wasn’t a gypsy, after all; she was only a loner. Grimoire, however, was keen for the great gypsy gossip. She poked her nose up from under the snow, and then slid out of her temporary den. Hissing out stale air, she strode on long legs towards the meeting… and still towards it. When she did finally trot out of the tree, four wolves were gathered. One, she felt immediate kinship with; his red eyes made her fur prickle with attraction. But he seemed rather fixated on the warm colored female. The white female and the silver one, were not wolves Grimoire had affinity for; she could see it in the niceties of their coats.

Grimoire began to circle around the group as the russet female began to speak of Hyrule, as if she were going to a spot where she could comfortably sit, though she had no intention. Her ears flicked at the name of Zeus. Ah. Dear, Dear god of a land far, far away. A grin took to her maw as she listened and she offered when the tiny brown wolf paused for a brief moment,

"On pillars of black,
The white bane slithers closer,
To end the poser
In a ferocious attack,

With murder on deck,
The Shadow-Walker wallows
At the god’s gallows,
Observing his broken neck.

… So goes the prophetic end of Zeus. Rumors have it that he’s looking to murder the Shadow-Walker; I guess he must have found him around here somewhere. I don’t have an ID on that wolf, though."

But Diveen was a place she’d have to visit… and speak with this Hyrule. Or send a gift to Azreal… or maybe instead just take a vacation. Diveeneese were stereotyped to be cordial to those who didn’t bite them. She hadn’t bitten yet. Grimoire finished her full circle and paused near the only male present. She was far enough away to be unthreatening, but near enough to make her interest clear. Grimoire didn’t allow her attention to remain on him, though, and she shifted her eyes to Hyrule’s messenger when she continued the conversation with "Hyrule has asked that we…"

Dragonfly:

Dragonfly waved her tail in heartfelt greeting of Taika. The impression she got of the older wolf was a whimsical fairy queen, and Dragonfly had hoped to see more of her since the spring. However, fortune had decided differently and taken them different ways for a long time. It was refreshing to know she was still about. Dragon fly was curious about the wolf who followed her… He looked scary. And he presented himself towards Liquid Amber and her with careless neutrality. It was off putting… but perhaps he was kind than her appeared if he accompanied Taika? Maybe was the father of her pups.

Dragonfly turned her attention to Liquid Amber when she spoke. Despite being a rough character, Liquid Amber was a wolf Dragonfly quickly came to respect and have affection for in that moment. She was asking after the well being of her fellows! How kind! Dragonfly’s tail thumped against the ground, but she remained silent; she had no news of any of them, after all. She turned her head to Taika she she answered immediately.

Zeus and Aides? Dragonfly hadn’t heard of them before, and so she was certain she’d never met them… unless they had attacked her when she arrived a year ago in Mecor Valley? Her mood was further disturbed by the arrival of a black wolf with russet fringing her dorsal side. She was a tall, thin wolf with short fur and… detached pink eyes. The poem she sang as she circled them made Dragonfly’s rounded ears perk forward curiously, and then flex backwards with anxiety.

She turned her attention back to Taika when she asked for Hyrule that they keep their ears sharp for information on Zeus and Aides. Dragonfly’s heart constricted with fear at Taika’s ominous reminder to keep those trusted close. She looked to her paws nervously. Who did she trust? Certainly Liquid Amber, Jackdaw, Taika, Fritto, Arthfeal, Jaeger, and Ame. Maybe she should make more attempts to keep in a group with her fellow gypsies if the free lands were more dangerous than normal?

The mood was lifted briefly by Taika’s happy reminder that the bountiful season of new growth was just around the corner! Dragonfly yipped with cheerful agreement. Then she suggested to the gathered with spring in mind and in light of Taika’s warning, "With all this danger about… Perhaps we should organize ourselves better?"

Hierarchy was a dangerous thing to suggest to gypsies, but with cannibals and murders about, and with the activity of spring coming, it seemed sensible. Or at least more productive than last year. The spring festival in Taviora had been fun, but the turn out dismal. Dragonfly wished to see more enthusiasm spread about the gypsy practices and culture! Organization would certainly help that end, wouldn’t it?
