The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Grey Wind

Time had passed since the male had left his pack. Luckily for him that the pack was not very active at the moment or it would have been a terrible time for him to leave. But he was not just going out and taking a vacation. But he also hadn’t left for business reasons either. Honestly he needed some time away from everyone else and to be on his own for a bit. Life always had its unexpected twists, and this was one of those times when all the twists and turns happened at once. It had been a decent amount of time since Kershov had left and he had taken over as Abendrot’s new alpha, and the thought of him being the leader was less foreign to him now. Abendrot had become his home long ago, and any time that he stepped away from its lands he felt a pull to go back, and now was no different. From the moment that Grey Wind had told Halina that he needed to take some time away from the pack and left her in charge he knew he would not be gone long. Large grey paws had forced their way through the trees away from his home, and now they carried him more easily and more swiftly back to the trees that he had recently left. He had been away long enough and it was time to go home.

As the male approached the borders of his pack, his mind wandered to the reasons that he had left it temporarily. Discovering that his brother, Summer, was alive, and finding out that he had lost his pack. The male was not entirely surprised, Summer had never seemed like the leading type to him when they were younger, and it had been odd to find the other male leading Bright Moon. But instead his brother was now in another pack, back down as an Omega, something that most alphas could not do. The other thing he had to deal with was Macaria and what was going to happen with her. She had left before he had to go out and try to finish her training as a healer, and he was curious to see if she would be back when he returned. The brute didn’t know what to think about her or his situation with her. What was supposed to be a temporary stay had turned into a permanent one with a wolf he was now considering a friend. And honestly it might be the only true friend that he had in Abendrot. Sure he had the support of the pack, but having a friend was different, but that had never been something that the male worried himself too much about. Having friends was not his priority and he honestly didn’t care if he had them or not. But having confused feelings about the younger female just complicated the situation.

Grey Wind’s yellow orbs focused on the trees bordering his home, and he decided to take the time to do a border patrol. His scent was still there, but it was not as strong as he would like it to be and he took his time rubbing along each tree that lined the territory, pausing to mark his scent more fully here and there. His audettes were alert, curious to see if he would find any other vargs from his pack out and about.

"Fight back,"He snarled.
