Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

It wasn’t often that Ember met another wolf who didn’t immediately demand her to submit. The white wolf kept her distance and made it almost like she was trying to ignore the smaller girl. This allowed the fox-like wolf to calm down from her initial shock and allow her tail to return to a more neutral position. Silver eyes watched the other for a moment as an awkward silence spread between them. Finally, the other spoke and had she not been covered in fur, Ember would have blushed. Cute? The other thought she was cute? Unsure of how to take this compliment, Ember simply giggled and looked back at the river.

The fish had swam away, leaving the girl to stare at her reflection in the rippling water. Cute, huh? What was so cute about her? She was unlike most wolves and because of that she didn’t make friends very easy. A few times she had tried to join a pack, but they thought her too weak or strange to be a good member and they would chase her away with teeth barred and growls abound. So, Ember was forced to live as a loner. It wasn’t so bad, but she still longed the company of other wolves, which was why she didn’t flee now.

Returning her attention back to the stranger, she padded forward timidly until she felt the strain on her own personal space. Sitting on her haunches and curling her tail around her dark paws, the wolfess offered a small smile and bowed her head. "My name is Ember Burning Bright, or just Ember, as some like to call me. May I ask who you are? Are you from around here? I am new to this place, so I’m not sure of anything. I’m sorry."

Again with the apologizing. She still didn’t understand why she did it, but she knew that it helped to calm some of the more dominate wolves. This new creatures was till a stranger and at any moment, Ember could do something to upset her. It was best to lay it all on the table now and assume the submissive role now before things got too ugly. She waited nervously for the other to finish drinking, wondering what would happen next.
